Obi´s 2mm TM Stunt Build

Recommended Posts

Hi folks!

I bough myself this year a Troopermaster 2mm ANH Stunt armour (Tax return for the win!)

So my plan is to have the armour so far done that I can wear it to the movie premier on dez. 17.

I try to get everything 501st correct right from the start (like straps etc.) but when I can´t get proper boots in this time or so I will improvise here and there.

Just the armour should be allready accurate cuz its hard to change anything on that later

Ok lets start!

first of all I went to Bunnings and bought everything I thought I need to trim the armour.

After a quick test of the air saw I decided to return it. Its hard to regulate the speed properly and it doesn't really cut through it. It was more melting than cutting. And its also quite big and hard do handle precise.  But The Dremel tool did an awesome job so I decided to go just with that one and returned the other one.

I´m really surprised how well that thing works in cutting and grinding

I just had to make some minor modifications on the box

This little dremel tool is sooo nice! it comes with an extension, so you basically just have to hold a tool in the size of a pen. Very easy to work precise with that one! And you can adjust the speed what is very important when you work with plastic etc. Its about 70-80 Bucks at Bunnigs. It´s totally woth it!

anyway..

Lets cut some stuff!

I started with the arms because I´m a bit concerned about the size of the biceps. I work out a lot so I may have to extend it a bit. And I also did not want to start with the bucket because I´m afraid to screw it up and that would be very obviously on the helmet if I do any mistakes.

I cut the rough shape with the band saw. That worked quite well until I trimmed the last part, the blade get stuck and cracked a piece on the left fore arm...

thats why I would not use the band saw again...

well we will see if I can fix it or I have to get a replacement. I really have to say that Trooper Master is an awesome Guy and he´s all ways will´d to help out!

time for the rotary tool!

the result from the first day work:

All the parts for both arms are done plus front and back armour and that little square thing for the thermal detonator

I just have a question:

I have read somewhere that you can cut the ab plate to get a little bit more movement in the armour and maby even be able to sit down. Is that still 501st conform?

Allright! That´s it for the start!

I hope your are going to enjoy my picture heavy build and I get a lot of tips and tricks from you!

Catch you on Endor!
