ltcardan
Hi all, From what I've gathered, it looks like RS Prop Masters is the only outfit offering armor and helmets made of PVC (I saw a forum post that said Anovos would be doing pvc, or did pvc at one point. But I talked to an anovos rep today who said they are only doing ABS and have no plans to do PVC) So my question is, does anyone else in the community cast in PVC? I really wanted to get the RS PVC armor so not to worry about discoloration, but I think it may be out of my price range right now... ukswrath[Staff]
Hey Ardan, if you're concerned about yellowing just apply wax polish with UV protectant.
ltcardan
oh, is it only UV that causes the discoloration? I thought it was also heat over time. Still, I'll look into the UV protectant polish since it looks like I'll probably end up getting an ABS suit. About how frequently must one apply said polish? ukswrath[Staff]
Well heat will cause all kinds of issues and you do live in CA so it will play a factor. I apply it every time it gets cleaned which is every other troop.
ltcardan
Sounds reasonable. And I guess I can always convert to a sandtrooper if the discoloration becomes too much
