Hey!

I'm ashamed to say...I've had this big brown box full of goodies for almost two years, but I only started working on it over summer. University got the better of me and ate up all my free time! But I'm not too far from being finished now, so I thought it was probably about time to say hello properly...

Here's a shot from 2014 with everything set out (ignore Jango!)

Here's my bucket:

I (finally) started building a snap rig for the upper body pieces. I had to trim things quite a lot. I'm 5'7:

Those photos were taken a few weeks ago, but the biceps, forearms, ab plate, kidney plate, butt plate etc are now finished as well. The only pic I have of all this together at the moment is this embarrassingly useless one that I tried to take without help using my laptop's webcam. I'm at home with my family now though, so I'll recruit a sibling minion to take a decent one as soon as I can!

I still need to finish the thighs, make the belt, add the final details (ab plate decals etc), make a holster, get hold of a blaster and sort out the boots. I managed to find a decent, inexpensive pair of chelsea boots and decided to paint them up, but I ran into a problem: I can't stop the paint from cracking across the middle. The elastic is pretty useless at taking the paint too!

If anyone has any advice, that would be amazing! Do you think the cracks will stop them from being accepted?

Thanks guys, I hope I can troop with you in the near future!

Not sure why no one responded to this thread. :P But hey there and good to know your build went well. I'm pretty sure the boots aren't supposed to show a crease but I could be mistaken as I too am new to trooping.

You can buy good boots from imperial boots if you are really concerned with getting approved and they are relatively cheap and of good quality. :)
