I'm hoping to add movie accurate sound with static burst to my TK.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of some good options I should look into.

It is not really an option for me to put speakers into my mic tips.

Any thoughts please let me know.

Thanks,

Jess

in the movies TKs did not have static bursts effects. They had a gentle "click" after each "transmission". The Icomm unit has 7 different sound effects and you can configure it to do 1 sound. However, the voice recognition is very sensitive and will make a sound even if you didn't say a word. the unit can be activated by a ptt cable but the switch is very small or repeats itself after being activated. The usual combo is the Aker amp with the icomm. Crowds love it, i always get comments like "wow it sounds like a stormtrooper". Using the aker voice amp is ok too.

The Rom/FX is another option that bundles the amp and the sounds into one board, rather than two separate boxes. It also produces random static bursts, and has five different settings that can be used to customize the effect.

Either system will generally cause the same reaction from the crowds. They're always more or less shocked when you sound "right."
