Shevalik Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) Hello everyone, I am still having a hard time deciding on what kit to go with. I am around 5'6" and weigh about 160 pounds. I have been in contact with someone about an AM armor kit, even though it will be too big. I saw pandatroopers thread and thought I would just do what he did. I really would enjoy the kit for the price and everything it comes with. I really do not want to wait on a 7 month wait list for ATA armor kit. I would like to get started on my project as soon as possible. I was wondering if someone could help me get everything figured out about how I should go about this. If there was a better kit that I could go with. If so if someone could get me in contact with the dealer. I am asking for help since everyone has a lot more experience than I do. I will add a picture of my father and I, so you can get a general idea of my proportions. Edited June 19, 2014 by Shevalik Quote
Minuteman Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 Welcome Josh! Two years ago I stood exactly where you stand now. I was 6'00 '' and about 170 pounds and searching for an affordable kit for my proportions. Back then I choose the AM because it was cheap and available, but I needed to modify it heavily to fit to my size. End of the story was it turned out pretty decent and I also received an EIB award with it, but when trooping with Garrison members with great armors like TM, RS and AP I always felt like the black sheep, if you understand what I mean? The AM simply can not compete with all those really great armors. At the moment I am selling my AM and building a new and hyper accurate TM and it is like night and day to look back at the AM. My advice: you got the right proportions to fit screen accurate armor. Then do it and do it completely right from the start. RS and TM are the best armors available but have their price and are UK located. But there are other nice kits available, like you mentioned ATA with its wait list, MTK always available, TMC, CAP-W, AP , etc. You will find something the right kit I am sure, but there is no need to choose the kit for the big trooper. Good luck trooper! Quote
