Question about modifying a Hyperfirm

I purchased a hyperfirm DLT-19 and am very happy with it. The end of the gun (barrel end) is flat...

 

Has anyone attempted to drill 1/4- 1/2" into the barrel to make it look more realistic?

I did on my E-11 hyperfirm then I inserted a brass tube to give it that gun barrel look. My only advice would be to not go too deep as there is usually a fiberglass rod in the middle if it's anything like the E-11.

I drilled in 1/4" into mine then I reached the fiber glass core.
