andy19422
Hi guys, I am makeing a non Star Wars related prop from HIPS and I need to know the best glue to use. The prop is made from two vacuune formed shells that fit inside each other. The inner is 1mm and the outer is 1.5. I will be using magnets to hold it together till it sets. I tried useing Revell modle kit glue but it softened the HIPS a bit.
sskunky
Hipsol is used for hips but a liquid solvent cement is usually good. just clamp the parts together or use magnets that aren't too strong and then dip a paint brush in the liquid glue and touch the seam, a drip should run down and into the seam in a capillary action. I use this technique for all my armour builds. It welds the two pieces together. as long as there is not too mch pressure it shouldn't warp. It will often the plastic a bit as that's what it does but 30 mins later it should be good.....
