I have a scratch build E11 question for anyone from the central Ohio area ...?

Hello to one and all, Hambo70 here from the central Ohio area. I am in the process of an E11 scratch build and before I get too far along was wondering if anyone could answer a question for me.

I have built many lightsabers over the years and never had to worry about the material I used ... I was reminded earlier today that I am now building a gun and not a fictional sword and that there may be gun

laws to consider. While I haven't really seen a bad E11 build on the boards, I kind of wanted to do mine in metal versus plastic or PVC.

Can anyone tell me if doing an all metal build will be a problem by Ohio law? If not, who would I potentially contact to find out??

If you build it right...it will always be in question. If there is any question about whether or not weapons are allowed at a particular event, it can be brought up before hand to whoever is coordinating the event. It also lies with how the weapoin is handled and displayed. Use your head, use your weapon as it was intended...AS A PROP...and if it ever comes into question, be prepared to explain how it IS ONLY A PROP.

Wise words indeed Steve ... it would seem you have become my FISD guardian angel. I imagine any scratch build, if done right, might be in question. When you strive for the level of accuracy that the 501st demands, I imagine these things are questioned regularly. I hope to do full lights and sounds eventually, further emphasizing the whole prop thing.

Have a great evening!!
