Final Day Bump

Great report mate. Sounds like you succesfully pulled off operation Shock and awe. Keep up the good work and keep those reports coming in.
-
ditto to what the rest of the boys have said. If it really annoys you, you can always get some white caulking to seal up the gaps.

All Altmanns Armour is Styrene and from personal experiance with the Scout bucket and Armour, i can defiantly say that it is prone to cracking on the stress points and when a crack starts, there is no way to repair it. I have never dropped my helmet, and don't ever plan too, but if i did I am almost positive a new crack would form if hit on the wrong place, like an edge or corner. However I recently did walk into a Tree recently on a photo shoot (No Tree hugging Scout Jokes guys and gals ok) and no damage was caused. left a nice weathering mark though.
But that said, it is a lite helmet, looks great and due to the ability of styrene to be pulled sharper, it is a great medium for making armour out of.

Here are some pics of my weathered Snowie Armor.
Chest plate.
Pack.
and the rest of the hard parts.
Just now waiting on my Duster to arrive from the LadyGhst in the States and this one is all done.
-
OK, whilst the sun was still up I grabbed some more shots.
Whats left to be cut out.
My all but finished helmet.
My a little dirty, Holden VY Commodore SS Ute, which I sometimes refer to as my VY-ST (VY-Scout Transport) and my bucket.
The armour trimmed so far.
from this picture you can see, the same mold damage on the back plate that has been previously brought up. As you wont see it under the straps, I'm not concerned about it.
Thats it for now, except for some of my Snowie Armour shots I will post up in a min.

A box of bits.
The first armor pieces trimmed.
but only the first of many.
bibs and bobs.
My messy work bench with my favorite armor making tools. The Scroll saw and bench sander.
Thats all for now, though I have done much more work. Will go out and take some more photos soon.
Hope you have enjoyed.

Well the USB card reader arrived and now as promised here are some pics of my Stuff.
the bare bones.
test fit.
Cut out and re-assembled.
Decals applied.
Frown painted and temp aerators attached.
I have since installed the lenses and tube stripes. Also I have painted the tears in with grey paint, as this is going to be a sandy bucket for display and I already have my RT Mod TK helmet. All that needs doing now is have a head liner installed so it is troop-able. But seeing as this is mainly for display, I'm in no hurry.

sweet i will go get one on thursday.

First up, Welcome Jeff, good luck on getting your armour together, its a fun road you are about to travel down.
I think SF Armour is Star Fortress am I right? Its ok to mention them as they are scum and we (well most of us) would love to see them shut down. In answer to your question NO, SF armour is bad. If money is tight go FX, but in the long run you will be better off in AP.
-
Helmet is finsihed (besides inner lining and dirty weathering) and looks quite good next to my RT mod TK bucket. As I already have the afore mentioned RT mod helmet, I have decided to turn the AP into a TD bucket to add to my collection of Imperial helmets.
Happy to report that it is not my camera that is faulty as I am able to hook it up to the TV and look at my pics, but the USB lead for the computer still wont work. I have managed to locate a new USB lead for my camera but have to wait till at least wednesday before i can pick it up.
-
Dude, Im dieing here, the camera has the pics all loaded, but I can't get them on to my computer because the Damn USB lead has decided to call it quits. As soon as I am able they will be here for all to see.
-
Well I finally got around to taking photos yesterday, and actually got my helmet all together and painted as well, but the damn Camera USB lead has a problem and I can't get the photo's off my Camera Grrr.
The only things left to do on my helmet now is to mount the harness inside, fans and affix the tube stripes labels. Speaking of which are there any measurements for exactly where the tube stiripes should be applied? They seem a bit long for where they look in the photos. Advice would be appreciated.

I have seen nothing here that justifies anyone spending $150 on a bunch of photo's, hi res or not. It's just not worthy and you are a greedy person to think that you are justified. Go on believing in your self importance. Sure you can charge what you like, but don't expect everyone to bow at your feet and tell you how great you are and how grateful we are to you.

Any clearer pics?

Your waiting.... Damn postman is out playing with my stuff again I'm sure

It also sounds like a great way to clean up the joins in armor pieces too. My Forarms are not the neatest of jobs, but this should fix it up nicely.
Who wants to go seamless? lol
