  1. Just wanted some info on the MR CE bucket that is available.

Does it have the black door trim on the edge of the hole where your noggin goes? If so, does it go all the way round?

Also, how is the brow trim attached? like the original buckets (compression fitted onto the edge of the lid part), or more like the FX lid where its simply glued onto the front?

    Thanks in advance,

    Pablo

  2. I have fitted these lovely new mirror lenses to my FX bucket, to make my TX Stealthtrooper look more striking. Can't stress how good they look in person!

The lenses were made by Mark (TK6540UKG) and arrived promptly, despite me missing the post oops!

Below are a couple of snaps. I tried my best to install them using hot glue, but got a bit of overflow, so i might remove them, clean them up and re-try it!

  3. TK6237 - Your solution looks lovely!!

Did you use anything to bond the FIMO to the bucket, or are the "barrels" held in place by FIMO's naturally "tackiness"?

I done have FIMO on hand, but i do have some two part putty that air drys rock solid in a few hours (can even cure underwater!!) so I may give it a whirl!

p.s. thank you to everyone else who made suggestions, I took notes don't worry :)

EDIT - Sorry my bad, didn't see the bit where you said you used e6000 to hold them in place! Really need to get me some of that glue, and get my eyes tested at the same time!

  4. Hi folks,

I was curious as to how other troopers fix their lenses in place?

I am currently trying out some different configurations and wondered how best to fix them in place. I am trying out having 2 seperate flat lenses and also trying one long lense (n.b. my bucket is a FX)

Photos of your lense setup would be appreciated if possible,

    Cheers :)

  5. Ok, firstly, i don't know whether this is frowned upon - i want to turn my stealth trooper (black FX kit) into a normal TK kit.

I am currently a newbie, as in i am not registered with the 501st or any other costume group.

Back to the subject at hand. I was wondering if i could get some advice on how to sand and paint my kit, and what paints to use, if it should be clear coated after etc etc.

Hope you can help me out

  6. "The frames sit just below the edge of your eye opening."

i dont know what the RT lid eye sockets are like, but on the FX lid, there isnt much of a "lip" around the inside of the eye, is this what the RT is like? (looks like there is quite a bit of a lip in your photos) or did you mean that it does set the lenses back slightly? sorry for being stupid :P

could you post a photo of your lid from the front, showing the lenses in?

    ta

oh, p.s. the tiny screws, what size are they? and are they secure enough just screwing into the epoxy stuff?

  7. TK4205 - with the epoxy paste frames you made, doesnt that make the lenses sit further back? im thinking trying this on my FX lid, would it be easy to do? lastly, what kind of expoy paste did you use? where can i find some? and where did you get the tiny screws from?

    thanks :)

  8. the guy emailed back, he said the blaster was 0.8kg, dimensions 54cm x 21cm x 17cm. is this correct?

the postal service he is using-------------

i tried myself, and it does show up as $40 and $80 =S

    what gives?

  9. the auction ends today and i have no idea how much a hasbro toy blaster weighs :(

i messaged him back asking if the quote was accurate (which it clearly isnt)

im never going to get my hands on a cheap blaster at this rate! super seriously considering making my own.

  10. ok, so i was browing the good old 'bay and i found a cheap blaster for sale, located in Canada. I messaged the chap selling it asking for shipping cost to mainland UK.

he quoted me $40 surface and $80 airmail!

    i was just like "omg"

is this accurate in the slightest? heck my armour cost like $50 airmail form the US of A.

    any insight on this please?
