  1. And for some reason, I can't download proper pics from my Mac to this site. The force isn't with me today lol
  2. Hi all, asking for build assistance again. So I sent in my application for the 501st and the recruiter found quite a few fixable issues. He said that the thighs need to be trimmed shorter, so should I trim from the top and go all around the top thigh? Do the thighs have to have a return edge? He also recommended that my ab, kidney, and butt plate be pulled up by suspenders. Any directions/advice on how to utilize suspenders when I'm already have all kinds of strapping inside? And I've had nothing but issues with my shins and he informed that my rear shins need to be fixed. Does the cover plates have to be straight when worn? And I've used all sorts of velcro and they still go wonky when I put on the shins. StormTrooper1.pdf
  3. So I continue to struggle with making my armor fit. I've trimmed the kidney, cut off the cod piece and re attached it, but yet it's still too big and long (that's what she said). Now the back plate is sticking out too much and my butt plate looks like a saggy diaper. How can I fix this? Cut the straps on top? Trim the sides of my kidney plate?
  4. So what was the outcome? I know I'm a few years late lol but in the same situation. My suit is almost done and now it's too big in the abdomen/kidney plate area. Not sure if I cut both down on the sides or overlap the pieces?
  5. So I'm in the final stages of my build and installing the strapping system and my ab plate that connects to my kidney plate is to big for me. I did all the trimming etc like on the videos but now that I'm trying it on, it's really big. I'm 5'8, 130lbs. I'm using all snaps and strapping because I'm not good at drilling and using rivets so hoping that this isn't necessary for the 501st. How do I fix this? Can I trim the sides of the ab plate or kidney piece or is it all in the strapping?
  6. Thank you so much. I was able to take it apart and sizing it. Also researched which side the dimple is on and the builder I watch on YouTube said it was on the right side but everyone else says it's on the left bicep so I'm leaving it on the left. Thanks again!
  7. Just realized that I was supposed to fit my biceps to my arms and I've already glued them shut and put on the cover strips. Should I try to take them apart and cut them down and size them? And if so, how do I get the E6000 glue off without destroying the plastic and cover strips?
  8. Thank you both. I will continue my search or use the Model Masters.
  9. Any advice on where to find the Testor's paint French Blue for my stormtrooper armor? I can't find it anywhere.
  10. Thank you both!
  11. Working on my storm trooper kit that I bought from a seller and it's going quite slow. I'm not handy with tools nor the Dremel so struggling to get smooth edges, perfect cuts, etc. My question is, how perfect does this suit have to be for me to be accepted into the 501st legion? And is there any more hands on assistance/mentoring services in Southern California that can assist those of us that are challenged? Any YouTube videos or builders that are super easy to follow as they build a suit?
  12. Thanks for the response Nairy. I’m approximately 5’7 and about 130 lbs. My son Luke and I have seen some stormtrooper kits on Etsy.
  13. Hello, my name is Maria and I’m new to the group. I’m a 54 year old single mom and it’s been my 20 year wish to be a member of the 501st legion. I’m not handy nor a builder but my son and I are committed to try to get me (and maybe him) into the legion so I can be a stormtrooper at least once before I die (or Alderan blows up again).
