  1. Bam! Back again for a build update. This time I’m currently working on my bucket build. These photos show the start of the build. Trimming and sanding the skull and face. I cut out the eyes and some of the teeth. Still have more to work on. Will post more this week. Hoping to complete my full kit before Celebration !
  2. Update! Made mad progress today thanks to TKMAD1 helping me with some trimming and more! We matched up the pieces for sizing/fitting and have a good idea of what the armor will look like once we get down to gluing and strapping Here are some photos .
  3. Already in the plans dude! Count me in.
  4. Hello Dan! Thanks for responding. I honestly don’t know my maker, only because I was gifted the kit a few years ago. I for sure know it’s ABS but not sure if it’s acrylic capped or not? So I’m shopping around to see if anyone has any extra for sale. But yes I understand finding the best to match my armor is important.
  5. Hello all, I’m in the process of building a TK but I am in need of a new bucket. I’m looking to purchase either a bucket kit that I can assemble or a pre-assembled bucket. If anyone has any extra kits or complete buckets, or knows where to find them please let me know. Thanks.
  6. Very nice, much appreciated for these pics
  7. Last post for now. Just an overview of the pieces I’m still cleaning up. Planning to make my snaps this weekend so I’m trying to get these pieces ready for fitting/glueing/snapping!
  8. This photo shows the bells at a higher angle. I have a feeling I can shave off a little more of that “lip “ at the top of the bell… trying to get everything “flush “ without getting too close to the nice parts of the plastic.
  9. Here are the shoulder bells trimmed and sanded. These seem pretty straight forward on the cut. They fit my shoulders pretty snug, which I imagine is better than a lose fit.
  10. One set of one forearm pieces. Trimmed and sanded. I Matched them up for a sizing idea, without my under armor for now. Looks and feels like this will fit ok with very little spacing between my forearm and the plastic.
  11. Back at it again! Haven’t been able to post recently but here is an update from yesterdays work. Planning to work on it some more today and tomorrow. These are the pieces I posted last time but with more trimming and sanding done to them. Basically cleaned them up more.
  12. Back at it again. Today the pieces that are being worked on are The bells, forearm, one back bicep and hand plates. All pieces need clean up trimming and sanding. Then I’ll have to measure the forearm pieces to fit my arms. Extra trimming will continue after measuring until they fit well enough and match up to be glued together. https://m.imgur.com/a/CQYGHgG
  13. one back bicep piece. Trimmed and sanded.I tried the two finished pieces, front and back on one of my biceps, and I feel like a lot more will need to be trimmed off of either the front or back. I’m going to wait it out until I have the straps to measure everything before cutting more
  14. Inside biceps. Trimmed and sanded. I feel pretty good about these so far. One of the outside bicep pieces still need some work.
  15. Sniper knee side view (sorry for low res)
  16. Sniper knee trimmed and sanded. I feel like a little more can be cleaned up on that top left edge.
  17. And I’m back! Update trim on the butt plate as suggested by a couple of good people here on this thread.
  18. Awesome, thanks for the input. I’ve seen a couple of these photos browsing through the forums, but I wasn’t sure if it was ideal to have the return edge so short or missing. I always assumed it was needed for connecting the other parts together with the hook method. But then I saw many people also use the strapping method. Thanks for putting my mind at ease for now regarding the kidney
  19. Thanks for the link and kind words. I’m happy I joined this forum, everyone has been real helpful and it’s so cool to see so many people that have built their kits and the many ways to do things. As far as my kit goes. I don’t know the maker. The whole kit was gifted to me by a good friend and member of the Dune Sea Garrison back in 2019.
  20. Next is back and butt plates. Trimmed and sanded. Learning from my mistake with the return edge on the kidney plate, I left a lot of return edge on the butt plate..but I definitely feel like I can lose some later on when it comes to the strapping stages.
  21. The torso pieces, trimmed and sanded. I feel pretty good about so far but I think there may be room for more trimming around the edges. Just curious on how they will fit being a taller trooper 6’1
  22. First let’s start off with the bad, because I’m not afraid to admit my mistakes the kidney plate. Cut off all of the return edge and will attempt to create a new one, some how. Possibly heat gun or what some people call a hot water bath?
