  1. As I understand it, SgtFang got the mold that DP used to make the Deluxe, while I got the original helmet DP used to make the mold.
  2. The TIE Helmet and the TK were a package deal. The TIE came from LFL also. Both pieces were used for reference for the Don Post Deluxe helmets. You can see remnants of the clay used to fill the gap between the face and fighter pilot helmet and scoring down the middle of the helmet where the mold was removed. There is also hand written pencil notation on this helmet. It would be awesome if somebody with more knowledge of these helmets could analyze them and compare them to others out there. (The TIE was assembled wrong with that piece above the eyes - it should be on the inside - That's how I got it. In the middle of the last pic is a TE that I got a long time ago) Should this be in a different thread?
  3. I'm not going to make or use anybodies anything. That's a heat my rear can't handle. It might not be a Screen Used item, but I think the cool thing is that this helmet was made by LFL people - whose molds, what molds is another story - but this sucker right from "them". I've already got some ideas, have no fear!
  4. Guaranteed. The challenge here is this helmet is glued together. It may be a wrong choice, but I do not want to disassemble it. As much as it is great source for new ROTJ/SE helmets, it also is a piece of SW prop history. I'd like to retain that if possible. That might seem nostalgic but it's a reality for me. The hand written notes in pencil are priceless to me. I can mold the thing. Already started to. The real challenge are the ears. I need to remove them in order to get an accurate mold made but they are glued on.
  5. Life put me a on a bit of a detour for the past year or so. I've also been neck deep in completing a Phase 1 clone helmet. Is there still an interest in this? There are so many TK makers out there (fan, licensed and otherwise) At the very least this is a helmet with legitimate origins and no "recast" stigma. (Which I think it stinking awesome!) Please voice opinions...... I can mold some up if you like.
  6. I can only go by what I was told by the DP person who had it. Any other speculation or info is always welcomed and appreciated! I can assert that it is in fact a nice thing-a-ma-jigger. No doubt. Thanks Matt.
  7. I recently was able to get a ROTJ style helmet that was made from LFL molds for Don Post Studios. It was used as a reference piece for the Deluxe line of Star Wars helmets that Don Post did. It was made in 1995. Edit - This is more representative of the ANH Special Edition helmets, which makes sense given it's construction date.
