It's probably a better question to ask over at Spec Ops as they look after this particular costume, we only look after Stormtroopers https://forum.specops501st.com/
Ah ok. Thank you

Thanks One Guy. I’ve actually ordered the hero helmet from RS with a view to getting a fully commissioned suit in the future.
Sweet! Welcome to the trooper costuming community. Good luck

Hi all,
I hope you’re safe and well wherever you are.
I’ve had a lifelong fascination with the stormtrooper. I have models, keyrings, lego and even a tattoo...but I’ve always wanted the real thing.
To start, I want to get the helmet and my initial search took me to originalstormtrooper.com. Owning a helmet from the original mould, complete with its own acrylic display box is really appealing to me, albeit at a hefty cost. Further research has cast some doubt and Andrew Ainsworth’s name seems to be mud from what I’ve read on other forums. RS Props has been another site I’ve looked at and seems to be strongly recommended.
Does anyone have any experience, recommendations or advice on this?
I’m not DIY savvy, so will never be capable of building my own. I’m also under no illusion that this is an expensive hobby. I just want to make sure I’m getting bang for my buck.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
T
If your interested in just having a helmet for display then I would go with a black series helmet but if you want the full kit RS prop masters makes a fully finished kit and from what I have heard it’s pretty awesome. I hope this helps.

as I have said in many other posts I am putting together an imperial army trooper kit and have ordered a Walts trooper factory chest piece, back piece, and helmet and I was looking through the 501st page on the army trooper but I saw nothing about hard armour and in the pictures nobody had chest plates. is it against the rules to use chest protection for an army trooper kit?

imperial army trooper? do you have a photo of what you are building
Spec Ops looks after this costume
https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_imperial_army_trooper
If you mean this one, the CRL specifies
so I would gather that would include any other ranks markings
- Rank bars of any kind are not permitted.

I am building what is pictured except I will have a chest and back plate. thank you for letting me know that you aren't supposed to have rank at all

If you check your invoice it should tell you.
I was told between 6 and 10 weeks for my Tie Pilot.
Otherwise, if you check out the WTF facebook group, you can ask, and one of the guys should be able to help you.

Ok. Thanks a bunch man

Hello, I am putting together a imperial army trooper kit and was wondering how I might mark the rank of PFC or whatever the imperial version of that is. I am pretty sure there is not a rank panel for ranks lower than ensign at least in the navy but I may be wrong. Thank you all for your help in advance

I also think Walt's Trooper factory does one as well.
Ok so I ordered a kit from WTF. Do you happen to know how long it takes for the armor to arrive?

Hi. I was thinking of putting together a imperial army trooper kit (probably a modified version of a 224th armoured division trooper) and I cant seem to find anywhere that sells or makes the helmet or chest guard. I was wondering if any of you would know where I could find these things. thanks

When you order a commission build from RS , they send you a sizing form . You take loads of measurements , fill in the form , and they make the armour to fit you . If you want armour that looks like it did in the movie, RS is the only choice .
Every comission build is custom tailored to fit the customer .
thank you so much. this is exactly what I was hoping to hear

Hi Erick, welcome to FISD. Here we have all sizes and body frame Troopers, HERE you can take a look to a 6' Trooper and this one is an RS Tall Trooper .
Also, I would recommend you to contact RS prop so they can confirm what measures do they need to help you. They have a great customer service.
Search and asking questions are the clue to take the best decision. good luck.
thank you for clarifying and providing these links. I really do appreciate this community

They ask for a big bunch of measurements after order of a regular TK. Thats why they don't show a size selector for the armor.
oh, so when you are making the purchase they ask for the measurements?

Sly11 gave sound advice. The reason for the sizing references for RS Prop’s snow trooper and scout is b/c the Scout and Snowy are predominantly comprised of soft parts with fewer armor pieces so sizing is more customizable. Whereas the armor for those builds and the ANH Stormtrooper is vac formed from mounds of original lineage armor so there’s no size variance.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkThank you for explaining. I was confused about that. I really appreciate how helpful this community is

RS is molded from an original set of armour so is accurate in size and dimension. In saying that, the average size of the actors in ANH was between 5'9" - 6 foot tall.
Sizing is important so you look righ, in which case you may find the limb pieces a touch on the short side for you (maybe).
In a situation where height is concerned i certainly would not look at a commission build, you really need to size each part against your self.
There are other armour kits out there that are more suitable for taller more robust troopers so not just height but your body type/build also do come into play.
AM suits larger troopers.
RT-Mod has longer arm and leg length options for taller troopers as well. So it's more about finding the right armour for you overall, not necessarily the maker you want.
End of the day, you can make any kit fit within reason, it also depends on your aspirations. We have basic level, plus 2 additional detachment driven levels for accuracy, Expert Infantry and Centurion.
EI is relatively easy to achieve, Centurion is some pretty fine detail, and how the armour really fits you for an overall appearance.
Check out our vendors list and reach out to a few of the makers.
Also check out some of our build threads.
Good luck with your journey Eric and welcome to FISD
Thank you for your help sir

will the RS prop master fully finished commision a new hope stormtrooper armour fit a 6"2 person? I only ask this because when browsing the site I saw that other armour such as the scout trooper armour and snowtrooper armour had sizing selections while the standard trooper armour did not other than on the shoes. This lead me to believe it was only one size and I remember hearing that the original stuff was meant to fit a 5'10 person. I have almost 0 knowledge on this topic so i'm sorry if my question sounds stupid or uneducated. I should probably also mention that I am not actually a member of the 501st legion because I am not old enough to join
