  1. Oh hey, nice! That's pretty neat, funny coincidence that we're relatively close by.
  2. Got my garage/workshop cleaned so now I actually have somewhere to do this lol. funny enough I've found two cases of dremel bits and the box for the dremel, but no dremel. apparently someone used it and forgot to put it back or something, shouldn't be too hard to find though. (and yes I know there's j-b weld just sitting right there on the rack, I'm not using it but there was just a bunch of random stuff already in the garage)
  3. Hot damn that's so cool! Best of luck getting it done!
  4. Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely be doing the same thing, maybe I'll start from bottom to top or something like that, save the best for last.
  5. A pro might be exaggerating a bit lol, but thanks! I still need to get quite a few things and set up some spreadsheets, clean my garage etc, so I've still quite a ways to go.
  6. Yeah, I'm definitely going to be doing research the whole way, asking questions and all that, thanks!
  7. I just noticed you got your armour set from Dave's Darkside Depot as well! Wow, we must've had the same batch or something because my set from him is coming this friday. What a coincidence.
  8. Wow, you're a lot more prepared than I am for this lol. May the force be with you on your epic quest to construct your armour!
  9. Oh man I am excited, I've been getting a few bits and bobs for my AM armour while I await it, but the time is nigh! It's in the mail and Big Brown Box Day is going to come a lot sooner than I thought. Still kinda feels unreal that this is happening. In a few days it should be delivered, and hopefully I can get started on doing some work. I'm going to probably need help but hey, that's what forums and build sessions are for.
  10. Thanks for the link, and the luck!
  11. Alrighty then, I'll probably have to go check my local stores and stuff to see if they have anything similar. On a side note my grandfolks used to live there, so that's neat, probably went into the same store too. They live closer to waterloo now and encountered a 501st member patrolling the streets as well, what a coincidence!
  12. Hahah! That's awesome! I'm probably going to be getting an AM kit myself, just for the height stuff. Both sets look great too!
  13. Thanks! My neck is also 17 inches so hopefully I won't have to remeasure too many things. I do have one question though, any tips on where to get the shiny-ish material for the outside of the neck?
  14. I also found this thread recently, and might have a go at creating one myself just to gain some knowledge/knowhow, if that fails I can just get the trooperbay one.
  15. Ah I see, thanks a bunch!
  16. So I'm really really new at this and figured hey, I might as well try for centurion because why not. For my first suit I'm doing a ANH TK Stunt armour and I'm starting to get all the soft parts first while I wait for AM to get back to me. Anyways I'm looking at the undersuit and neck seal now and I don't know if their neck seal is good enough for not, I read somewhere on here that it needs to have that s-curve at the top, but looking in the costuming databank for the ANH TK Stunt it doesn't mention it. Would it be good or should I look elsewhere for one? Trooperbay Neck Seal:
  17. Thanks, I've currently been looking into the different soft bits while waiting for AM to get back to me, and I'm guessing it's probably a good idea to be getting most if not all of everything else before BBD.
  18. Yep, I'll probably be reading over all the links for quite a bit before I do anything, and hoo boy will I have questions.
  19. I've been thinking that I might go with one of the AM kits for a TK ANH Stunt, it's ABS which is good and I've heard it's made for taller troopers. time to do a crapload more research
  20. Hello there. (heh) I first heard about the 501st about 2 years ago (I think) and immediately loved the idea of joining everyone in doing Star Wars charity stuff, anyways after a long 2 years (in which I probably should've done planning and stuff but uh.. nope) I'm finally ready to get started on stuff here, which is quite exciting! Literally any information will help me as I don't remember much from my "research" from back then. I'm also 6'5 so durable armour suggestions for tall troopers would be super helpful. Anyways, have a nice day. (also I might've made a post from back then?? but now seems like a more fitting time to do this.)
  21. Thanks for the advice and tips on where to find the various threads and all that, I'll definitely check out those build tips and *certainly* start my own build thread once I start on my own set! p.s love the dancing stormtrooper you got XD
