  1. Hi everyone I wanted to see if anyone had trimming advice. I bought a set of shadow trooper armor from a 501st member who was stepping away from trooping he sold me his entire under $500 so it was a pretty good deal. The armor is somewhere between 10-15 years old but is in great condition (no cracks or chips) but I want to be extra careful with it considering how old it is. I need to trim assembled biceps, thighs and shins. I was wondering if anyone has tool recommendations or advice for cutting older sets of armor.
  2. This is great! thanks! Cricket's thread should help a lot.
  3. Hi guys I've been lurking here for the better half if six years and i just purchased my first set of TK armor (shadow trooper) from a local 501st member who was stepping back from trooping. The armor itself is an WTF ANH that was sold to me for $400 including soft parts, boots, blaster, helmet and assembled armor. The armor itself needs work for basic approval on its own. The plastic is in pretty good condition with no cracks or chips but it has a number of stains, scratches and discoloration from trooping. I also want to completely redo padding, straps and harness. The top coat is also a matte instead of a gloss but I'll leave those questions for the spec ops forum. The question i wanted to ask here was about sizing and adjustment. I'm 5'4 171lbs with a stocky build. The 501st member I bought the armor from was 5'7 - 5'8 with a different build. The top half of the armor fits fine with some minor adjustments but the bottom half does not. The thighs even with padding are massive on me. The prior owner has the thighs attached to the abdomen plate with elastic snaps. I've seen some troopers use elastic loops attached to a belt which could be a better method. Currently the thigh plates sit far too low even without shin plates on I can't bend my knees. That's the first and most glaring issue. The shin armor is also too tall for my shins. I don't want to start trimming away at the plastic if its not necessary. I wanted to mention this issue here and see if anyone has advice? I don't have any photos of the armor but I can upload some this weekend.
  4. I thought about it you get to keep the shinny armor and get extra accessories I'm just not a fan of the backpack.
  5. Wouldn't jedi fallen order and Mandalorian count as canon sources? Thanks! For the reply I'll make sure to contact my local garrison!
  6. Thinking about finally buying a set of armor but i had a few questions. What's the status on using accessories that aren't on the CRLs but are still canon for trooping? Pauldrons, binders, blasters etc. Rebels and fallen order both show pauldrons are used to designate rank and specialty. TK commander fallen order https://www.ign.com/wikis/star-wars-jedi-fallen-order/Stormtrooper_Commander TK heavy fallen order https://www.ign.com/wikis/star-wars-jedi-fallen-order/Heavy_Assault_Stormtrooper The E22 from rogue one was used by a TK during Mandalorian https://www.facebook.com/groups/www.whitearmor.net/permalink/490752614889703/ From the fisd FB group
  7. Looking for a vendor who sells r1 helmets kits or finished.
  8. He's selling a completed helmet for a pretty good price for a kit i want to build.
  9. Hi guys I'm new been lurking and asking around on different detachment forums. i originally didn't plan to do a TK for my first armor. i still might go with something else but I found a screen accurate ANH kit for a really good price. I was wondering if the shadow trooper is just painted from the TK white abs or does it have its own kit with black abs? I also have a few more questions 1: can i turn the normal TK into a shadow trooper 2: can i use the rogue one armor for a shadow trooper? 3: I'm 5'3 or 4 (M) the armor is designed for 5'7 plus. Can i trim the armor down to fit me and not look weird, goofy/ funky. Other kits I'm interested in are tie pilot, shoretrooper, staff officer and a mando (for recommendations)
