It's definitely a recast. My friend brought it and its not great. The helmet barely has the indented vents, the trim on the helmet is barely there and definitely a copy of Jims. the abd detail is not there and drawn with pencil. the belt is just a sheet of abs and traced with pencil.
and all of the plastic is thin and flimsy.
dang that sucks

your armor looks great but there is something off about you left leg it looks like you have two right shins from looking at it, and if that's the case look in to getting a replacement for the shin, but i could be wrong, also you may need to paint the resin cover strips to match the armor

oh ok thanks for the info

hey troopers i was browsing on etsy earlier and came across another r1tk kit, it comes with the full armor, all vacuum formed, and helmet kit which is also vacuum formed, which is pretty interesting. would like to hear what your thoughts are on this kit

hey troopers i have a question, does anyone know any vendors who sell any pre-shimmed kidneys, or in other words a kidney plate that is made for larger people or if not a kidney play maybe a abdomen plate that is bigger

is the plastic durable from this kit durable, I've been wanting to do a R1 kit especially this kit mainly because of the price and i won't have to paint it so much but i'm worried about the durability of the armor mainly because i'm pretty clumsy

Congratulations and welcome to the ranks. Just a minor fit issue, I would try to bring your shoulder bells in a little more to reduce the black seen there.
i tryied to but sadly it makes it harder to wear but i might order some bigger shoulder bells to fix that

hey troopers, so a little update on the shims, to be honest they are an absolute pain in the but, at the moment here are some pictures of what they look like at the moment
heres a pic of what they look like up close
so as you can see i have made some progress of them, but every time i add a layer and sand it there is always these little craters on it and i do not know if i have to keep sanding until the whole thing is smooth or until there is no sign of a seam, also ones i finish with it, what is the best way to blend it with the armor, paint it or polish it

thanks tony ill be sure to

So I saw this video recently ( https://youtu.be/o78HcBmKoqE ) and I am curious about your guys opinion on these technics when it comes to making shims for the body armor. The video isn't star wars related but when I saw it it got me curious about modifying tk armor you know.
