Thank you. Please don't be discouraged. Most troopers here are just like me and you.

That said, I wont sell official merchandise to non 501st members, but if you email me you address, I will give you your first challenge coin.

    Okay.  I understand.

What to do with all of this merch that I paid for...

I must have thousands in merchandise... I would ask Scott and Lesley but they got run off too.

As an applicant, it hurts me to see someone trying their hardest to fix a situation when you are up against a wall.  I want to help you out.  Can you DM me the price for 2 coins?  I know I am not a full member but I want to help you out.  I will cover the processing and shipping also.

Congrats! Deciding on the armor is the first big step.  :duim:  You will have no issues taking your AP armour to higher levels (once you get started you will see it is easier than you think)!  Start a build thread anytime - even while you are just collecting all the bits and pieces.  It is a great way to get feed back and ask questions. Good luck!

Yeah.  I will.  I get paid this coming Friday.  So I will be placing the order next week. Otherwise I won't be able to eat. ha ha ha

Hi Alex and welcome aboard future Trooper!

Have a read in the “Getting Started-Read this First” section, as there is some really good info in there for new members.

Then, have a read in “Costuming and Builds” section to discover other troopers who are building (or have built) the same armor as you! Really good tips, examples, pictures, previously answered questions, and successes here.

In addition to looking at all the various build threads, I highly recommend checking out the “Advanced Tactics” section where you can see examples of those who have taken their armor to the next levels of screen accuracy (EIB and Centurion).  I’d recommend that you aim to build to one of the certification levels, as TK’s look their best at these levels. It's really not hard to acquire EIB or Centurion, and it’s best to do during your build rather that after.

If, and when, you’re looking for other bits –and-pieces, accessories, boots, blasters, electronics, etc., be sure to check out the “Imperial Commissary/PX” section for items for sale, project runs, and for other stuff that most of the troopers use.

Also, make contact with your local Garrison. They’ll help guide you through the process of becoming a member of the 501st, and may have local Armor Parties in the works where you can get hands-on build advice and guidance, not to mention meet members of your future Garrison.

So, start a build thread here on FISD; post lots of pictures and questions. We are all here to help you out and to make sure you look your best, and represent the 501st as best as possible.

All the best on your TK journey!:smiley-sw013:

Thank you for the warm welcome.  I am going to be ordering a kit from AP.  Many members speak highly of him.  This will be my first build so I am not going to try to take too big of a bite.  But I will be looking into more advanced options.  But for right now, baby steps.

  5. Just ordered my compression shirt and pants.  I went ahead and ordered the long sleeve shirt.  Not sure how well the armor covers my arms.  I am also in talks with AP.  His prices are a lot better than I thought.  I will post a photo of the compression later today.  So excited for this build.

Depending on your body type, ordering a trimmed kit may not be the best idea as if you needed to size something larger, you would have a harder time than just getting your kit untrimmed and working from there. I found that trimming helped me get comfortable working with ABS. Untrimmed is normally cheaper too.

Yeah.  I am 6 foot 1 and my last weight in was roughly 180 pounds with my clothes and shoes on

Welcome! What part of Texas are you in? I am here in San Antonio, been great meeting local members so far and everyone has been super helpful. Make sure you join our facebook page "Imperial Academy - Star Garrison Recruit Page"  there are a lot of awesome people there as well and great help so far. They focus on all aspects of the Empire and can help in most any way needed. Hope to see you around and good luck!

I have joined the page.  They have been helpful also.  I just sent an email to AP to get quotes.  Just have to wait for the funds to come in.  Government is taking their sweet time.  Ha ha ha.

  8. Hello everyone.  Greetings from Texas.  I am interested in joining the 501st as a trooper.  When really wanted me to join was all the work the Star Garrison does for children's hospitals.  Bringing joy to kids is what I want to do the most.  I have done costume acting before as school mascots and hired as living statues for dances and parties.  I love being able to be the true goofball that I am when I am in character.  I have only just started doing research for my costume.  I am not artistically inclined so I will probably use this year's tax refund and work a couple Overtime shifts to cover the cost.  I feel that I found a good costume store on here in the UK.  The price is a bit high but I can manage.  There is so much more to the 501st than I thought.  So many documents to read and understand.  Ha ha ha.  Any tips on the application process would be greatly appreciated.  Also any "avoid things like....." are welcomed greatly.  This is all so new to me.
