  1. I’m starting a new build and I’d like to reset my account or profile or whatever it takes to get the old one gone. My first build was tragic, as far as I’m m concerned. I changed my name to my old nickname “Easy” and now can’t put up a new profile or cover photo after removing the old ones. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but I’d like to get going on the right shuttle here. Any help is welcome.
  2. Ok…did some fine tuning on part locations and stability, added foam inside calves and forearms, and did some home trooping. I also wore it to the local firewoks show in my town. I went out the back way and hopped a fence, walked 1km to the park and really made a few people happy there. AND yes I hopped a fence in the armour. It’s a 3’ wooden fence so not terribly difficult. The next day I did some more touch ups and was wearing it around the house, played my guitars in it, cooked dinner (well…helped), and lounged around with my kids. Here’s a few pics from dinner day. NOTE: I don’t wear my detonator in the house and only have the blaster for some pics. Weapons free house. https://photos.app.goo.gl/GQNwNTMnpWMnhNKc8
  3. Thanks Neb. This is an ANH Stunt build. I have addressed most of those issues but haven’t put pics up yet. Still have a couple things to do. The upper belt corners are cut to the angles and holster is riveted on, all to specs from the good people in the 501st. The thigh ammo belt is now rounded but I’m nervous about cutting the rivets out to lower it. I’m not happy with the belt where it is nor how it was made. The ends are much shorter than they should be but that’s how it came. That at big black strap is just what came with the kit, not even elastic. I’ve seen many with a much smaller strap and pics with the snap setup as you described. The strap would seem to allow the ab/kidney section to slide up inside the chest/back which makes sitting in regular chairs very easy and comfortable. To achieve this with them snapped would require a long enough strap to have it hang in place properly but slacken enough to overlap so the chest/back wouldn’t push up around my head…and my hair lol. (I’ll have to tuck that in better). I still might snap it. Right now I can actually drive my truck wearing it though. Those shoulder bells really look bad like that. I shortened the elastic shoulder straps and relocated the snaps forward to fix that. There’s a bit more gap behind but the front is really nice now. The biceps are really tight and need a little trimming to fit nicer on my arm. I’ve got the elastic straps all set up correctly with snaps so I just need to get the parts lined up properly when I wear it. Like the off kilter right shin in one pic or the left in another pic. I don’t think I can do anything about that flare though I’d likely destroy the pieces trying. I may replace them someday. To to be honest this has been both exciting and frustrating. I think I just have to accept that this kit is not going to be level 3. The parts are just not made for that level. It will be one I can wear proudly and will be able to perform as I want it to. Sitting, bending, up and down stairs, moving around and even driving are all doable in this kit…which I would expect from a ‘stunt’ version. Im going to fix up a couple more tings then get it on for more pics. I really appreciate all the feedback and direction. I’m hoping that I can be that helpful to someone someday.
  4. Thanks. Ya it was crooked. Thinking about adding another rivet to them to keep them straight.

  6. Posted Thursday at 03:36 PM Uber E-11 blaster and electronics unboxing. I've been sanding and gluing and it’s starting to really come together…and apart. I highly recommend this piece for anyone who wants a great blaster. That being said, nothing is perfect. I ran into a problem with the folding stock build. I came up with modification/repair and submitted it to Ray Hebert, designer and builder of the kit, and Ray loves it. Ray asked me to share this fix/upgrade. The one problem I couldn’t fix was the folding stock plunger and catch. It went together fine but after sitting for a bit the catch piece broke off. I couldn’t get it back together and ended up breaking the plunger a couple of times trying. So here’s my solution. Pictures in the link. I cut a 5/16” bolt head and threads off so only the shoulder was left. Using a drill press I drilled a hole through it and tapped threads into it to match the machine screw thread I had on hand. Then I cut the notch into the end farthest from the hole and 90° to the hole, the same as the original part. I filed all the cut surfaces to deburr and smooth it out. The screw head is just wide enough to go into the barrel hole and slide into the locked position. If I ever need to pull it apart to adjust the spring or do any maintenance it’s very easy. NOTE: A little rtv on the threads will keep it secured but not permanently fixed in.
  7. I got some 1”x1/8” aluminum strip and cut 10” lengths. I bent these into the detonator clips. https://photos.app.goo.gl/YWHya1g4HhXszjxr1

  9. As I feared the thigh wouldn’t go up high enough. It was just tight enough to ride too low to bend at the knee enough to walk comfortably, stairs were almost impossible. So I separated the back joint and made it wider with a new cover strip. It’s much better but I think I’ll need to trim the parts above and below the knee in the back to get good mobility. I’ve seen this done so it should be pretty straightforward. My webbing design will keep the thigh pieces from dropping or spinning so that will be a big help.
  10. I’ll have to get the pieces for the backs of the ammo boxes I guess. I wasn’t aware there was a piece for that, just read that they should be closed. As as for the cover strips, they are wide. I’ve fixed the thigh to 20mm and the calf to 25mm. Now I just hope I can get my leg into them. While I’m not a fat guy I am a big guy.
  11. Been trimming and gluing the pieces together, getting rid of all that Velcro. Couple of things I have to say I’ve noticed: 1. As much as I hate the Velcro it seems to be great for setting up the pieces to fit me perfectly before the gluing starts. 2. It’s extremely gratifying to see and actually feel the difference in the sections once the glue is set. It’s so solid. I’d almost think it would stop a blaster hit. Also, as I’ve not been able to find a decent set of webbing I’ve designed one and have some of the parts for it. https://photos.app.goo.gl/x3pTwud0xR7jNDht2
  12. Thanks, I’ll do that. I’m in southern Ontario, Canada and I’ve been in touch with a couple people here. Turns out there’s a group right in my hometown of Oshawa that’s run by a guy who went to school with my younger brother. We became FB friends and I’m waiting to find out from him who can approve my entry to the garrison. I can’t seem to complete my profile without a garrison to enter. Small steps I guess.
  13. Thanks guys. I’m not taking this as criticism. I bought this kit as it was in my price range and knowing that it is a kit and will need mods. I’ve shimmed the kidney plate to join with the ab plate and it’s a less than 1/2” gap now. I need to get more snaps to join the right side and then take pics with me in it. I’ve also raised the ammo belt to the correct level. This really helped with the overal fit around back as well. The hanging boxes are not set as of yet. The webbing that came with the kit kit is all Velcro and I’m not keeping it. I’m building my own adjustable webbing that will snap in once done. Also, you may have noticed, all the snaps are on the pieces with Velcro pads. This will also be changed once I have the kit fitted and hung properly. I tried putting more more pics in here but it seems I’m out of space for them. Must have done something wrong when posting.
  14. Is there a configuration of the cod piece? I’ve seen it both separate and uncut from the AB plate. I’m assuming it helps when sitting but is cutting it acceptable?
  15. It’s from JediRobe in England. I believe it’s stunt as well. There is three screws total in the ear pieces.
  16. Scary part begins with the first cut. Seems to be going ok.
  17. First fitting…weight watchers time. Halloween through New Years has taken a toll on me.
  18. Out of the box. So this is how a kid feels at Christmas. Got some work to do…after I’m done shaking with excitement. I feel ridiculous.
  19. I’m doing my first build and have tons of great info and pics to guide me. As usual, like a ‘new guy’, I have some questions. Here’s one regarding build spec levels 1,2&3. I understand the detail levels required for each but are they related to centurion status or is that a separate achievement with different requirements?
  20. I wondered if that’s all they were for. I was considering making them functional if they had any functions.
  21. Been searching around for some info on what the ab buttons were supposed to be used for. I’ve not seen any troopers in any of the movies use them. Anyone have any information on their intended purpose?
