  1. What are the options for me in terms of acquiring an E-11 to go with my suit? I know there are resin kits and foamies, but what do you veterans use? What holds up and looks good? Give me your two cents, everyone.

  2. After some looking around and some email conversations with some vetted armor vendors, I have narrowed my choices down according to price. However, there's a problem; I weigh a lot more than the men the armor was originally designed for! I'm a former swimmer and am quite muscular, as well as only 5' 10''. My chest, thighs, and waist are enormous and I don't think I'll really fit anything without a mean shimming job. Are there kits out there for people like me, or is there some creative shim work in my future? I have head that AM and RT-MOD are good for larger people.

    Hi Sean...

This thread hasn't been active in a while so I hope you see this.  Could you give a few more details on how you fixed the shape of your Back Plate where the corners dip down over the Kidney?  This seems to be a common issue with AM armor, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to correct it without changing the shape of the Back Plate at the edges.

This is how my AM Back Plate sits atop the Kidney.  Along the green line it's right on top of the Kidney upper return edge, where it's supposed to be.  But those two pointed "wings" (orange arrows) or whatever you'd call them are curved down and over the Kidney.  You noted that you heat shaped the Back to bring those two "wings" up.  I've done a good bit of heat shaping in my build so bending these would be straightforward, but I would think that if you did that, then the sides of the Back Plate would bow out where I've drawn the curved red lines.  How'd you keep that from happening?

I don't think it would bow out if the entire area you marked in red were reshaped. That is, if you were to heat the sides and corners up and curve them in. That should help the back plate follow the kidney armor's curve, I think.
