  1. Thanks Tino, in a way it's good to know I'm not alone in this haha. What you mentioned about not cutting more than a third... this might be where my mistake was I think, I probably cut closer to halfway through. And unfortunately, there's not enough to make another piece big enough I've found some 2mm Aluminum on Amazon which I've ordered, it's 300x50mm so I'll have plenty to make all the mistakes I like! Lol Thanks again for the support! I'll be hollowing out the scope soon, scary stuff! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks Dan, Yeh I'm out of ideas of how to do it next time. It was always a worry with the limited amount left over from Tino's kit, really leaves no room for error! At least if I get some more, I'll make sure to get extra just in case! Lol Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  3. Also today: picked up some "white stuff" (same as green stuff just.. well.. white) to fill in the mag and mag holder to later drill some holes and mount some magnets for a removable clip. And some heartache!!! I made a boo boo while making the counter bracket, the aluminium broke while bending. I'd read to cut a grove on the opposite side - which I did (about 1 mm maybe) - but it still broke. So options are now: get another piece of Alu to try again, or somehow try and repair this one? I wondered about gluing it but I don't think it will hold or be strong enough to support the counter, not in the long term at least. Any thought how to proceed? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  4. Some updates today: installed lots of replacement screws on the counter and scope, also done the 2 guards. Most of the doopies set was in good condition out of the mold I though, but the guards needed a bit of the green stuff - which I love by the way, never used it before now, it's awesome! Lastly drilled a hole through the rear sight. Decided to go on in from each end and meet in the middle for this, didn't trust myself not to go wonky haha Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks Dracotrooper! Always good to know I'm doing getting somewhere at least This better RE the grub? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  6. Cheers buddy, will look into that today. I assume there's a small gap so the counter and bracket aren't touching the barrel? Bit hard to see in some pics Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  7. Couple of extra bits done, got the big grub screw in, working on the magazine and a spring for the mag release button. I hate springs, I don't know why I'm doing this to myself lol Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  8. Done. Wish it was all that easy lol Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  9. Haha thanks Dan, probably couldn't be further from the truth though lol. I've gotten away with a few things so far, just hope my luck holds out! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  10. Scope rail! Well this has been a hard task, feel like I've managed it alright so far. Still need to measure and drill the rail holes for the scope, but it's pretty much done. I've 74mm of Alu left for the bracket, anyone have any idea of dimensions for it? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  11. Lol Yeh, I see that now! And Cheers! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  12. Update: Tino, you're a genius! (I'm sure everyone already knows that) So, I've shaved a bit off the top of the trigger (where it would pivot) and sunk the trigger deeper in. This couldn't have worked better for me as there's now a good amount of movement on the trigger while still using the Doopies trigger guard. Next I've done the spring... this was a fiddly little nightmare and involved lots of frustration lol finally got it all in though, and by some miracle, the trigger actually *clicks* now when pulled. This was a complete and utter fluke (I'll take it though!) And is caused when the pin on the back of the trigger flicks off one of the rungs of the spring. Only worry is: not sure how it will hold up in the long run. (Also, the spring isn't actually glued in yet, hope this will still be there after gluing!) Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

  16. Dan, what would I do without you!?? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  17. Awesome! Thanks, Tino, will give it a shot! Hoping to get the rear sight and scope rail done today at least... not quite sure how to tackle the rail yet.. Think I saw a diagram with measurements of it somewhere. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  18. Cheers buddy! Will have a look through that today, it'll probably help in some other areas too by the sounds of it! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  19. Hi Tino! Thanks for the message! Dang.. starting to think I should have gone for the scope rail, in hindsight it would save a lot of effort lol. I'm actually trying to drop the trigger down a bit at the moment. I've shaved a bit off the back (first pic but actually took off less than shown), so now the trigger goes back further, but it still doesn't go forward enough. I thought maybe I could chop a bit off the top of the trigger (last pic) and that maybe that would help... any thoughts? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

  24. Cheers Dan! I've just heard back from Marc at the G, he's suggested taking some off the back of the trigger to give more space. Considering my very particular lack of skills, I might try that route first before resorting to the Alu one! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  25. Ok, here's where I've got a problem: the trigger guard. As Dan pointed out to me, the Doopies resin one isn't big enough when you've got a working trigger... I've seen people have mentioned using some of the aluminium from the scope rail to form the guard themselves... but I didn't go for the upgrade (the pre-built scope rail), so will I have enough aluminium to do both? I kind of assumed all the metal I have would go towards the rail, not that I've looked into the rail much yet.. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
