  1. I'd say 90%+ of us built our own. We all started where you are right now. It looks intimidating but it's not that hard. And with everyone here helping you could do it. Just take ypur time and look around. It's a big decision that needs an informed purchaser.

My biggest hurdle is getting my armor. I would refer pre-trimmed.... But I need expert advice on maybe 2 or 3 preferred companies. Hoping to stay in my budget.

  2. Welcome to the FISD Steven! Don't be concerned about buying a commissioned set of armor. Any way you get here is fine with us! The benefit of building your own is, you built it on your own. And it can be sized perfectly to you. Either way glad to see another Trooper soon joining the ranks.

Thank you! Been a HUGE trooper fan since I was little. I am intimidated by building my own, but have noticed a ready to wear is pricy

  3. Hi Steven and welcome to FISD! Check out this link: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/

There is a ton of information here for you to get through but it will all be worth it. One of the most important decisions you can make is choosing your armor. You certainly want to be well informed. Once you make your decision you will want to check out the advanced tactics section. There you will be able to see how awesome your armor can be made to look if you put in just a little extra effort during the building process. Ask us any questions you may have. Have fun and good luck!

Thanks! I think I have narrowed it down to two makers. Unfortunately, I feel my choice to buy armor trimmed, assembled, or ready to wear may be frowned upon after seeing everyone take so much pride in their building skills (which I fully respect).
