Thank you! Been a HUGE trooper fan since I was little. I am intimidated by building my own, but have noticed a ready to wear is pricyWelcome to the FISD Steven! Don't be concerned about buying a commissioned set of armor. Any way you get here is fine with us! The benefit of building your own is, you built it on your own. And it can be sized perfectly to you. Either way glad to see another Trooper soon joining the ranks.

Looking at possibly purchasing a Shepperton Design studios, battle spec armor. Does anyone have any info or pointers? (Didn't see them listed on the forums)

Thanks! I think I have narrowed it down to two makers. Unfortunately, I feel my choice to buy armor trimmed, assembled, or ready to wear may be frowned upon after seeing everyone take so much pride in their building skills (which I fully respect).Hi Steven and welcome to FISD! Check out this link: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
There is a ton of information here for you to get through but it will all be worth it. One of the most important decisions you can make is choosing your armor. You certainly want to be well informed. Once you make your decision you will want to check out the advanced tactics section. There you will be able to see how awesome your armor can be made to look if you put in just a little extra effort during the building process. Ask us any questions you may have. Have fun and good luck!

Hello everyone, my name is Steven. I'm 24. Looking at buying my first suit of armor soon. Was lead here by a friend who is in the 501st. Read a few forums but still learning.
