Hello Everyone,

 

My name is Bill and I've had the pleasure of recently meeting a handful of members from the 501st at EternalCon 2016 on Long Island.  I went to EternalCon with the intention of meeting and learning from the members of the 501st.  I've wanted to make a Stormtrooper costume for many years and really didn't know how to begin.  I guess a touch of paralysis by analysis.  I have a mechanical and electronic background and love building/wrenching on anything from RC airplanes to Jeeps.  I just need guidance and plenty of it regarding the versions, the manufacturers, armament, etc.   I don't mind learning from my mistakes but I'm also not looking to reinvent the wheel.  Any tribal knowledge would be extremely appreciated.  I'm 6'2" 250 so I heard that might steer me to one manufacturer or another. My goal is a Stormtrooper costume/outfit from A New Hope.  Sorry, I'm still learning acronyms and syntax.  For someone who's been around and consumed by Star Wars since 77 I do feel very humbled but look forward to learning, talking, and meeting with more members of the 501st.
