1. How messed up is messed up? One wide cut or a bunch of little ones? Also on what is the front or is it on what would be the back? Photos of the damage will help us to help you. All is not lost.

    Hi,

They are to small at the bottom. I read how to shim them to make them bigger. Was just hoping not to have to do it. I already enlarged one thigh. Just have to do one more coat of abs paste and sand. Then that one is done. I don't mind doing that on at least one set armor, because it's for a sandtrooper. The other set is a traditional tk and I would like it to be as clean as possible.

4d7ec0e1d9104b3c520cbcb4e3c0daa1.jpg this is the one I enlarged already. I can do it to all of them but would like to at least have to totally cleaned ones.

Thanks for getting back to me so fast.

  2. I was tired of having to change a battery mid troop, so I've decided to build my own 5v fan cooling system using a rechargeable usb power cell. I trooped for 4 hours with this setup and only used 1/4 of the battery.

Flash back to my second troop where I burned through (3) 9v batteries in 3 hours. This will save money big time!!

  3. Ok so... breath when I tell you this, I think you'll be ok but what I said was.... "Start by raising your thighs 1/2-1". If you need to, remove more, if not all the upper return edge do so." I didn't say top of the thigh. Anyways, again I think you'll be fine.

Your shins look great. At this point I would finish assembling the front of the legs and do another test fit. Optimum is minimal gap between the thighs and cod. Afterwards, with the sniper knee temporarily installed, the top of the sniper knee should sit close to the lower edge of the thigh. It doesn't have to be perfect. In the movie they're all over the place.

Haha I definitely had to breath there. What I did was take 1/2" off the back and part way on the insides. Then tapered it to the front only removing the return edge. The back was hitting my butt, so I couldn't pull them up any further. Now the problem I have is I think they are to tight around the bottom to move them up any further. Hey you live you learn. Again thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it. I had no clue how they fit. At least I got the shins right.

One more question. Should I size the shins with the boots on or off.

Sorry it took me a bit, but here is a picture of the shins flipped.so now it's #25&28 on right #24&27 on left.

Sorry to bother you again. Heres a new picture. Now I have it #24 on right leg. Then #27 on the left. I also took off an 1 1/4 off the bottom of each shin. Should I take a little bit more off?

Also I took your advice and trimmed the tops of my thighs. How do they look now? Again thank you so much for helping me out with all this.

  5. Ok so there's a couple things we can do here. Start by raising your thighs 1/2-1". If you need to, remove more, if not all the upper return edge do so.

Then I would start removing material from the bottom of the shins a little at a time, maybe 1/2". Afterwards, with the sniper knee temporarily installed, the top of the sniper knee should sit close to the lower edge of the thigh. It doesn't have to be perfect. In the movie they're all over the place.

The shin halves look correct however, for the sake of argument switch legs and post another pic so I can see what it looks like.

I didn't take anything off the tops of my thighs except 10mm off the high points. Just so I could bend a little more. With taking off the return edge on the top of the thighs will that affect centurion status.

Thank you for the help. I'll post pictures this weekend with the shins flipped. With the shins I already took 3/4" off the bottom.

Thanks again I kept looking at photos to see how everything laid in but it was really hard to tell.

  7. Yes. For hard to get to areas I use a piece of scrap ABS from the initial trimming.

    Hi Ukswrath,

First off thank you for doing this feed. It has helped me with my build. I wanted your opinion on what to do with my shins. I'm only 5'6" and I don't have a lot of knee showing between the thigh and shins. I also wanted to make sure I have the right shins put together. I have #24 and #27 on left. #25 and #28 on right.7d6b0bceea89d29d47d3908adced383a.jpgb6eaa6e8a101db1eaefcd9fb2ae75ee4.jpgfdcad2200f6424674e68aff35b31400b.jpg4ee8457a99297c48b9ad9cbdd177a6c6.jpg

  8. Looks great! Fits you nicely. Your shoulder bells could be moved in a bit. So they are just touching the shoulder bridge. Your right side for sure and your left just a little.

Thanks, after looking at I was thinking the same thing.

  9. Looking pretty good so far, Braden! Not sure if you noticed, but your right shin is overlapping on the wrong side in the back. Also, you might want to show a few side shots with your arms raised so we can see the ab/kidney connection. Keep up the great work!

I didn't notice that. Good looking out. I'll resize them with the correct overlap.

  10. Hi everyone,

I was hoping to get some feed back about how my armor is fitting me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    -----------

By the way this is an Anovos build. In this picture the shin arrangements are #24 and #27 on the right. Then #25 and #28 on the left. I just want to make sure they are right before I put them all together.

    Thanks in advance

  11. I started working on my thoughts this week. I'm wondering if I need to take more off the tops of my thighs for better movement. As they are now when I bend my leg up they dig into my hips. If I do have to take more off. Do I need to put a return edge back on? Here are some photos

  12. Looking GREAT so far, Braden! Fantastic job on trimming and sanding!!! It looks like you are shooting for Centurion, which I am glad to see. So VERY glad that you ditched the ANOVOS Velcro in favor of snaps... it will serve you well, I promise. Keep up the great job, and you will be applying for EIB and then Centurion in no time!

I had a quick question for you. I did notice that my butt plate flares out. Would it still be EIB and Centurion acceptable it I added another set of snap plate closer to the edges or should I heat brand them in more.

Thanks a lot. I research a lot before I do a section to find out the best way to do it.

  14. Hi guys,

I got my wife's and I Anovos kits in the mail a couple weeks ago. So for the kits are great. I got all the armor trimmed and ready to fit. Just waiting on the under suits.

I did start working on the helmets. I cleaned up the frown a bit. I also painted the inside black. I do have a question about how to attach the lenses just to the inside of the helmet. I didn't like the one piece attaching to the sides. The center tended to rub on my nose. I saw a couple helmets that looked like there was foam around them. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
