  1. Yeah I saw that. Kinda prompted me to start this. What if the new tks are all shiny ,super symmetrical and sharp. Don't thibk they will venture far from the classic style but with newer tech and being able to produce en masse better stuff than we ever saw in the movies. Could change a lot for us. First order is completely new but these are within the original timeline
  2. That's not really what I'm getting at. We spend a lot of time and effort to be screen accurate. Looking at first order it's very sanitized just wondering if that's what the new tks will look like ... The anovos was just a reference to what's going on in the hobby now.
  3. I did a quick forum/web search for the rogue one stormtrooper armour, found a few pics seen a few differences..<br> I am honestly not trying to open a can of worms here but rather start a real discussion at where rogue one might take the tks. With as clean as first order are on screen, and how sharp and clean anovos tks are looking. Could the anovos be what we will see in rogue one or something even cleaner and sharper like first order?
  4. Yeah I pinned everything. What I noticed is that it didn't bond with the doopy..just hardened. I had very high hopes at the initial results. But this morning It all just crackled and came apart with a some pressure. Which is not acceptable to me. This is just my experience so far. I have the mag receiver glued and screwed in and I haven't checked that yet without the screw. Resin will ooze because it wasn't mixed well enough to be activated.
  5. Yup all the above. Even tried mixing larger amounts thinking the epoxy wasn't balanced. Same outcome. On all peices some deep gouges as rough and some fine scratches. Even my pins pulled out with just a little twitching. It just didn't bond for me. Throwing it out there for everyone try it if you want I did a lot of research and chose it for the quick set time since patience isn't one of my strong points. But I hate doing things twice even more. E6000 seems the go to and I will just have to do the long wait for it to set.
  6. I just tried devcon 2 part epoxy on my doopy...seemed to work great and set fast. After about 12 hours it simply broke apart with a small amount of pressure and wiggling. It didn't create a bond just hard set and broke away from both peices even with scoring. Am going to have to grind it all down again and will try e6000. And yes it was fresh and well mixed before use. So just an fyi for everyone.
  7. I have nothing at all against screen accurate replicas. I personally have never been interested in exactly replicating any movie prop as props are usually pretty shoddy when you see them up close. I feel that staying true to the integrity of the design doesn't always mean having to wear a crooked helmet.. I find it disparaging when people choose one side or another. It's all in the craftdom. With no disrespect to screen accurate choices. My choice is to replicate something close to what the empire would of actually put out in the field in the world it is set in. That said we still don't know what anovos will actually produce. But I don't feel that if they do mass produce a quality set it will cheapen the hobby at all but instead infuse it.
  8. I understand the love of screen accurate replicas, flaws included. I prefer a more real world look. I know some might call sacrilige but I feel tweaking it a bit definetly improves the overall idea and look of what the original prop makers had in mind.
