Re: The reference to the one pick; "Pulp Fiction" comes to mind.

I would agree that working in a well ventilated area (such as a garage with the door open and a fan running) would be good advice. From the sounds of it, the person in the quoted in the original post was working with this and letting it dry in an enclosed area, maybe a room in her house (or maybe even her bedroom and sleeping while breathing in the fumes). I could not see how anyone could build up such a toxic amount in their body otherwise. Haven't built any armor yet, but that's just good ole common sense when working with large amounts of glue or certain paints.
Is it just me, or did anyone else picture rhinestones on a Stormtrooper?

I know you made a decision, but I think you made the right call regarding armor. Not only is it iconic, but a lot of people have it and being new like me, you will have a lot of experienced people to help you, both on these boards and from your local Garrison. Being the original armor first seen on screen, I don't think it'll ever go out of style, even after the new trilogy is released in its entirety.
The TFA armor looks sweet and all, but it does look a bit more complicated and you will find that probably even the most skilled and veteran TKs who have put together multiple sets of armor may have a bit of a learning curve themselves when putting this together, even though a few probably have already done so.
IMO, wait a little while and enjoy the ANH armor. TFA armor will be there when you're ready.

Hey from Knoxville, TN. I am new here also. Have you made contact with anyone here in the Mid South Garrison? I have not been successful yet must be busy.
I have not as of yet, but only registered on their forums late last night.

Thanks. I have registered on MidSouth Garrison forums as well. I hope to meet some of them and hopefully help out in a non costume capacity until I can get armor. I'm about 6'3" and pushing 300lbs. After reading on forums, I'm thinking AM or RT would be the best choices? If so, I will reach out to them for estimated costs.Greetings John!
We are glad you joined the FISD. You should reach out to the Bloodfin Garrison,
but we love to answer questions and help out where we can. This is a fun group
and trooping is the best!
CONGRATS on your new journey to the DARK SIDE!

Hello. I've been lurking and reading through the forums for a bit and decided to create an account and say hello. Been a Star Wars fan since ANH first came out (it just called "Star Wars" then ). Hoping to some day be able to get some trooper armor and join the 501st because it combines my love of Star Wars with helping the community.

It's pretty much up to legion standard straight out of the box. Only add on you may need if you want to clear Centurion status is a D ring on the back.
