1. Ok, weighing up options! I know E11 isn't required for 501st approval, but while I'm waiting on my armor...damnit I WANT one! ;-)
Narrowed down (don't have time to build myself) to a concerted Hasbro via a local Garrison member on commission, or a B grade hyperfirm. I know one only bounces & the other goes "pew pew pew", but what are thoughts ($ is equivalent) on which is best choice - I'm just doing this to troop and am not super fussed on screen accuracy (please don't stone me!!!)

  2. Hi all - hoping to be able to get my 501st membership in the new year (armor will be arriving shortly), and I'm spending lots of time reading various threads about the build. But one thing I'm curious about is what to actually expect at my first formal troop. Obviously they're all different, but any general insights??

  3. I can sit in mine and be fairly comfy.

Also, I may or may not have been fairly intoxicated last weekend and somehow managed to kit up. O.o Apparently I laid down in my bed and was about to go to sleep in it until one of my girlfriends suggested I remove it. So there's that, haha.

Well, this thread just took an interesting turn! Lol ;-)
  4. Hi all -final stages of my research & prep to buy a TK kit...but now I get to thinking! My ultimate goal is to have a TD for trooping, and was assuming I'd "dirty up" my TK after a while to do that. However, now wondering if I should just go all out and make my first kit into a TD. Or is that likely too much to take on for a first build with no experience (and given my eagerness to "get trooping")?!

Thoughts and input appreciated! Other than the paulderon, ammo pouch, cheesegrater (?) hands, anything else needed for an entry level TD (I've been looking at MEPD too).

  5. Hi guys - first off thank you for all the help you've provided me so far with my armor questions. I'm getting close to pulling that trigger!
Last question...as a 5'7" "stocky" guy,is there any armor I should avoid, given that I was born short but beautiful? I've heard TM and AM might be more designed for those taller troopers. Just want to avoid excess trimming/adjustments if I can.
As always, any thoughts appreciated!
6. Hey Jefferson. If you are looking to troop in the Efx then you would have a lot of work ahead of you to get it approved. Unless you were just planning on walking around the neighborhood or using it for Halloween. But the Efx is not very accurate and would not be accepted in 501st as is. Just google the Efx and start looking at it side by side with an accurate bucket that you see on here and the differences will stand out almost immediately.

  7. Hi all - as yoda told me other day, "mmmmm, research you must!!!" (Ok, I had been drinking, but I'm pretty sure that happened)...
Anyway, I THINK I've managed to identify these key armor options to review, compare & contrast in order to make that final armor decision (for 501st use, just entry level approval). My main reason for this post is to see if there are any other armorers out there I should consider. Please let me know. However, if you have any commentary on the ones I have identified, you're welcome to chime in!
So, I've identified so far: TM, T/MC, AM, MTK, RS Prop and AP.
(ATA has advised a 10-11 month wait list time, so they're out right now).
Thanks guys, I really appreciate your input. I know the final choice is mine, but you have a wealth of info I'd like to take advantage of!
(FYI, I'm 5'7", 185lb if that makes any choice differences)
