  1. Well, I've had my kit a couple months or so now.  Also ordered the T-Jay's finishing kit and Gazmosis magazine.  Figured I'd get a build thread started.  So far, the only thing I've been able to finish somewhat decently is the scope.  I'll throw some pics up in a bit.  I also picked up a Sterling folding stock for my build that I'd love to use (if I can get the pins out sometime this century)

Now to find an image hosting server...........

  2. I've been having a similar problem removing the resin screw blobs. Can't seem to drill the hole in the proper location. It's gotten so bad I'm considering cutting the whole muzzle off and ordering a 3D printed one from Shapeways...

Seriously, the folding stock is pointless....There is no reference to it in any of the movies.

    So why bother...??

Adding a folding stock to the DD kit is like adding a hat to the mona lisa.......... :laugh1:

There are definitely no references to a folding stock in the films.  Nor are there for a functioning bolt, see-through scope, magazine release mechanism, selector switch and a working trigger.  Yet people mod them accordingly.  Just a thought....

  4. Hello peeps.  Newbie here.  I just received my E-11 kit from DoopyDoos (almost 2 months later)  I was looking at reference pics and it looks like my magazine casting is incorrect (based on reference pics I see around here.)  I believe there is supposed to be a clip or something on it, plus it looks too short.  I'd really like some input on this as I'm rather clueless....

  5. I suppose it was about time that I signed up.  Been browsing this site for a couple of years now....

i saw A New Hope in '77 at the age of 5.  Since then, I've been an addict.  I've been mellowing out with collecting in my later years but decided that trooping looks like something I could really get in to.

Anyway, I met a couple of 501st members yesterday in Verona at the Scare-a-con convention and decided I need to get myself motivated to start a build.  I've watched many hours of video and read many pages of info regarding the creation of several armors.  My procrastination was mainly which build do I want to start with?  Once I was informed about the Anovos kit I pretty much made up my mind.  Hopefully it will be acceptable for the 501st (I understand it will need to be modified to some extent)

So that's about it.  Looking forward to talking with you all!
