so I want to buy the DD e11 kit but I am put off by shipping cost to USA. I also think it's lame that they don't combine shipping or even discount shipping multiple items.

What did you use to remove the logo?

The more I look at these boots the more I think they will be okay for EIB and centurion.  I think if I just smooth the sole, pain the sole black, then paint the leather white white.

 

What issues do you all see?

Okay so I have been looking everywhere for Chelsea boots in wide widths.  I have read that Imperial Boots and TkBoots run a bit narrow. 

 

I found these boots on Amazon, they are Rockports and they come in wide widths.------------------My biggest concern with these being accepted is the sole.  I think I could grind the sole smooth.

 

Also the elastic/fabric part is just a bit wider and longer down the side than on the originals.  I would hope that these could be considered acceptable with a few modifications.  I think they would be a great option for those of us with neanderthal feet!

 

What do you guys think?

Is there a good guide for strapping?  I am almost sure I will be using elastic and snaps but I am having trouble finding any tutorials or guides.

 

I don't even know what size elastic is needed. One thread says you 2" white while another will say 1 1/2" white.

Like all the posters in this sub-forum I wanted to say HI and introduce myself.

 

My name is Mario, I am 33 years old, married and I live in San Diego.  I am putting the finishing touches on my Han Solo costume for the Rebel Legion.  I will soon be starting on the long journey to join the 501st.

 

I been compiling research for a few days now and I am not sure what armor size will best for me.  I have read the "Armor and where to get it" thread several times.  I am 5'10" (maybe 5'11") and I weigh 180lbs.  So based on those numbers alone and my waist size of 33 I would definitely be a medium.  However, I am relatively muscular across my shoulders and arms.  I'll post a picture of myself on here.

 

I want a "bright" TK kit that has a good shine or that I can put a good shine on it.  Towards that end, I am leaning towards going with TM armor.  His suits are always described as higher shine. 

 

Anyway, just wanted to say hi!
