  1. I'm not sure why it works, but I found (quite accidentally) that sucking on a cough drop keeps my lenses from fogging up as much. It's sort of a sloppy patch, but if your lenses are fogging up really bad because of weather or whatever, it's a quick and easy solution to help mitigate the problem.

I was intrigued by this and gave it a shot in both my Spider Man costume (whose lenses fog like CRAZY) and my helmet, which isn't quite as bad. It actually made a good difference! Maybe it "cools" your breath or something? They give you that "cool breath" feeling, but I don't think they'd actually lower its physical temperature, of course. Whatever it is, it works!

  2. I need to trim down some parts of my FX, since I'm a little dude! It's been many years since I made all my cool little models, so my hobby skills are long extinct. So humor me with this basic question!

Do most of you just use the old reliable Xacto and then sand the edge (and then give it a return with a hobby iron if you're hardcore... my iron is in the mail!) Is there a good "guide" to go by while trimming to keep the chest trimming even on either side? I'm thinking maybe just scotch tape a straight edge on top of the chest plate to where I want to trim down to on either side (especially to shorten the inaccurate "wings" that the FX chest has on the ends, going too far down relative to the middle of the bottom of the plate...) My biggest concern is making one side of the plate too short for the other. At which point I'll go back and do the other side again to make it even, and go too far.. so I'll go back and do the other side of the plate again, ad nauseum. Kinda like when I try shave my sideburns :D

I have the same concern about the thighs, actually.

    Thanks y'all!

  3. Looks like I'll be investing in a hobby iron! Thanks for the info, my friend. This is gonna be some fun!

    Welcome to the FISD Eddy.

You'll need to trim the thighs, chest, and shins for starters. Luckily you can cut a more correct shape on the thighs to match more accurate armor. Also take a look at the chest mod here:

  4. After a lot of trolling and research, I'm thinking of getting an FX Lite and an MR CE, hopefully ready for Halloween, and will have the better part of a year to mod it out so I can troop troop troop at the Dragon*Con parade =D

My only concern... I'm 5'6", 145 pounds (muscular build).. will the armor potentially look over-sized for my shorter stature? I've wanted to be a stormtrooper for years (only now do I finally have the money), but I don't wanna look like an undersized fool in the uniform. Any other shorties have issues/suggestions? Thanks!
