  1. I am very much the same. Like you I can get along fine with people but when in armour I do sort of come to life a bit more, talking to and interacting with fellow costumers and members of the public more. Especially when i don my bucket then no body knows me which makes it fun. Although 501st has a strict rule that we must keep our buckets on for an entire event, which I don't like that much because it really does limit how much you can talk and socialise with people. But at the same time This rule make sense and has it's advantages.

But yeah, I love interacting with people while in costume!

  2. Hey Blayne, thank you for your EIB application

    CRL and EIB Application Requirements:

All required photos have been posted. Your armor meets all requirements for Expert infantry, welcome and congratulations! :salute:. Great job on your build :duim:

    Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:

In this section, we review suggestions made by your fellow troopers and our own observations. All go towards improving the final look of your armor. Though none of following suggestions will not effect your EIB status most, if not all will be required to be updated if you choose to apply for Centurion. Nothing to add here.

    Centurion Suggestions:

The ultimate accuracy at Centurion is up to the Trooper however, we see no reason why you should not aim for the top, especially since your armor build is very nice. The following suggestions and requirements are to prepare you for the Centurion if you choose to apply for it.

    1) Cover strips tool long. In multiple areas your cover strips are too long and extend past the edge of your armor. They should end with the armor. Easy fix

    2) Ab to Kidney left rivets need to be painted. The left side rivets are required to be painted for Centurion. Easy fix

    3) Tip of frown missing. For ANH Stunt the frown should extend outside the tooth area. We are requesting you add this being it will be required at the Centurion level. 4) Ear screws inaccurate. The ear screws are supposed to be "V" shaped. Anovos supplied are pan head. Were requesting you replace these screws.

    5) Thermal Detonator screws inaccurate. The TD clip mounting screws should be pan head and slotted. I've found the ear mounting screws will work perfect for this so, if you choose to replace the ear screws then you'll have screws needed for the TD. Just paint them black and your golden. :duim:

    6) This is the most difficult request. We commend you for making the required EIB belt modifications for ANH Stunt however, the cloth portion of the belt still does not meet Centurion requirements and we're requesting you replace it with one that is more screen accurate. There are a couple suppliers out there, TKittle for example. You can find them in the sales section. There's also a couple tutorials illustrating how to replace it if you're not sure how to perform this modification. Judging by your build this shouldn't be too difficult for you.

That's it. Again, congratulations on your EIB and hope to see you at Centurion.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

  3. Looks really good ! one thing that is that the cover strips on the rear thigh maybe too high, it's extending past the armor . But you did mention that you are redoing some cover strips .

Yea when I redo them it will just be a matter of trimming and sanding them down. I notice a lot of people's strips contour with the flow of the armour at the edges

  4. I have a bit of tweaking to do such as replace the internal rigging. For now I am using the Anovos system as it allows me to play around with it a bit to see what fits right and it holds up fine. I also intend on re-gluing some of the cover strips and such to make them tighter. Another future change i want to make is a new, sturdier belt definitely.  But for now I can say it is finished and my first troop will be in the Belfast St. Patrick's day parade!

  6. Ok so most people seem to be doing this. Removing two of the screws and covering the holes with some material from the back of the belt. Makes sense. Now I was wondering why it couldn't it be acceptable to just cover up the screws holess with the screws inserted so that I still have the strength of 4 screws but two are hidden. I'm not going to challenge the CRL on this but I have seen someone who used two screws on their anovos belt and the weight of it tore the belt at the holes. <br />I mean as long as it's hidden. Same way the internal rigging if the suit is different for many people but it's fine because it's hidden. For now I suppose I'll have to role with 2 screws :L

Which method for covering these holes anyway? Glue or sewn?

  7. Can anyone tell me how reliable or strong the Velcro/hook and loop parts are? Most people are using the strap method but I'm curious how the anovos' method works. It's not all going to come loose and fall apart after an hour of trooping?

  8. In regards to those waiting on international shipping to begin,

I just received tracking information/shipping label being made from FedEx. Its being sent to Northern Ireland in the Uk. A very optimist estimated delivery of Feb 4th which I won't get my hopes up for.

I ordered on May 4th at 20 minutes til midnight.

Looks like anovos' expected shipment dates were miscalculated again! This time it's earlier :D

  9. In Canada, If the package is over 200$ usually, I get duty fees. :( Most I ever had was 120$ on a 1200$ item which was ridiculous... So I think it's around 10% for us. Could be more though, been a while since I had to deal with duty fees. (*Knocks on wood*)

Lucky. It's a whopping 20% in the UK

  10. It depends on how Anovos handles this.

Easiest would be if each parcel/part shipment would be handled separate with it´s own partial invoice and declaration on the outside - that way it´s as separate orders.

That makes sense. I would be surprised and mad if they don't do this. I'm sure they will

  11. Maybe. But it´s a long shot. I order a lot, and most parcels i have to pick up at the customs office, only very few slip through (and, in EU. if they do this and you don´t bring them to notice yourself ...... a long and sad story, most governments are not pleased if taxes are not paid).

So your chances are good to pay then shipping to your sister, from her to you, additional the taxes - and in the worst case some penalty (unlikely but possibly)

For not paying double at separate shipments, the paperwork should be accordingly.

Edit: Oh, and you pay the same tax with every item you buy, be it a lawnmover or a microwave - the only difference is that you don´t see it when buying in a local shop. ;)

So how do you mean the paperwork should be accordingly? Do you know how we would avoid being charged double?

  12. I am not an expert and only a nooby but I like the hard clean lines. I think it looks much more expensive and menacing than their prototype.

What do the experts think as far as accuracy and approval?

That is if this is the actual one shipping.

I'm in the same boat as you. I think it's an improvement over the prototype. The pull looks very sharp and I personally prefer how much more striking and intimidating it looks.

Obviously we don't get a full look of it and there's probably some experts who can see the inaccuracies

  13. Yes mate I will be looking into it - thanks kindly!

I didn't get the December 21st notice as I cancelled my order back on November 13th and received my refund 4 days after.

Did they give you a full refund? I mean was there a $50 cancelation policy?
