  1. hey all! I noticed someone had tried to order the front sight and there were some wall thickness issues with the printer on Shapeways. I went in and fixed those issues so it should be good to order now. Sorry for the inconvenience. I was on vacation last week with no computer access so took me some time. If there is any other feedback on the parts let me know so I can go and make any model updates to fit the blaster's needs better going to work on the counter as well this week so keep you posted.
  2. Haha made sense don't worry. I'm a mechanical engineer by trade so fortunately tech talk makes sense. I hear ya on the flush magnets though and was thinking that idea as well. Scott's post about it being roughly the same size will also have to be considered. So seems like a cover or a direct replacement is the only way to go
  3. Yeah Im bringing laptop home this weekend so if I get some down time at night I can design something. I would like to use the current battery compartment and just make this a simple cover that goes over it. stay tuned. If anyone has other ideas, let me know and I can try to incorporate
  4. Yeah for sure! That is definitely coming down the line. I will probably modify a model so that it fits right over the current one with no hassle
  5. Ok more stuff! So on Shapeways you will see the Scope Modded piece that will work to replace the front of the scope. As shown here: Pretty sure those screws I have in there are not the screen-accurate version but look pretty good for what I had laying around the garage! They will look better with paint and some weathering. This mod is as simple as cutting the front scope right at the front where the respective stock piece sits. Just realized though that I need to make that piece a little bigger...will modify and update Shapeways. Next piece I have been tackling is the magazine. I want to replace the entire thing because...its ugly, to be blunt. so here is what I've got for it: It was printed in pieces and build up together quite nicely! I can provide the kit or I will try and make a solid assembly of them which would probably be a lot easier. These models have been scaled to fit right onto the diameter of the barrel. The idea is to cut away the current "magazine" and fit this right to the barrel in its place. Here is a comparison: Going to do that mod one of these nights just to see how it goes. On Shapeways youll see I posted a scaled Power Cell Assembly on there. You'll see this fits nicely on top of the magazine as it should. Doopy Doos power cells are probably good to use also, but just posting if anyone is interested. They do have holes in the back as well in case you want to add the wires to them! (gotta figure out a way to make these pics smaller...sorry. just want you to see the detail, yeah that was it!) Can't wait to see this thing painted black! Going to work on getting the magazine attached this weekend as well as sticking some glass in the scope. If anyone has found a good T-Track for this Disney rifle yet let me know because I haven't gotten around to finding a good one yet. Not a huuuuge update but more to come soon with finalizing this areas. Again, I will work on the magazine model and get it up on Shapeways. Link is in my signature
  6. Just threw them up there for ya! So for the D-Ring Mount, I did make it to fit the EndCap that is on Shapeways as well. It will work on the stock Disney E-11 but if you are going for the EndCap that I modded to fit, it will fit nicely into the speaker recess. Also, put up the Scope mod that will allow you to cut the front off the scope and add the modification. Will take a picture of what that looks like tonight. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/dsy-e-11
  7. Yes I actually worked on it a little this week! I will grab some pics later on tonight and put them up. For those interested, here is a link to ShapeWays that has everything I have done so far as well as the power cell assembly https://www.shapeways.com/shops/dsy-e-11 I may put up the scaled Magazine assembly but I havent quite figure out how I am going to mount that yet. There is the link though if anyone wants to check it out!
  8. hey! I believe this is a Theme Park exclusive (so Disneyland, DisneyWorld...) but there are others who have purchased them over the phone with an 800 number. If anyone is privy to that info let us know!
  9. Yes, sorry things have gotten a little busy lately. re-doing a backyard will do that to ya. Wish I could devote more time to this lately but other things come up. I will have an update in the coming week
  10. I think you're right. I think I will attach it then use a dremel bit to flare it out. Found this pic to go off (although there are plenty more online) Pardon my inexperience everyone! This is a work in progress obviously so I welcome all tips and input! Also, I've been working on getting house fixed up so not much time to work on adding these parts lately. Bare with me and I will have updates soon!
  11. The current front sight on the gun has a screw there that I will try to relocate I meant. I want to knock that whole sight out so that screw boss will be gone. So haven't decided where to add another screw but once I get it cut out I can determine if it is even needed.
  12. More parts printed today! I decided I wanted to change the weapon select lever (since its just a little nub in the plastic) so I might sand it down and connect it as the actual weapon select feature. Just a thought! I was printing parts anyways so thought I would take a chance. Anyway, here is what I have ready: Front Site Blowback Shield Weapon Select Lever Scope Mod Since there is a screw in the front site Im going to have to figure out where I can add another to hold it together. This front site looks a lot better though so ill figure it out
  13. Ah ok yeah this is what I thought you meant. Certainly does seem that way, there are so many ways to do things out there. I am going to bend up some steal for the rail I think so I may go into the rear iron sight, I may not. What're you thinkin for yours?
  14. Looks like I am going to work on cutting down the back of the barrel a little more to get the endcap to the correct location. Should have looked more closely at the replica so thanks for that! For the rail, I haven't decided what to do with that yet. I want to put a different rail on it since the one on there now is now good. Plus, I want to do an overhaul on the scope they provide. I guess I am not familiar with the rail variation you are referring to...are you talking about where people hollow it out? I prefer to make it like the Doopy conversion rail (or better if I can)
  15. Got to get some of those pieces on this weekend! First part I wanted to put on was the endcap. Had to diameter correct so just had to test it. Time to cut: Decided just to use a small hacksaw to cut the plastic to give me a little more control. cut the end off of both of the blaster halves. On the half with the speaker, be sure to remove that before you start cutting away at the stock endcap. Once Cut, I cleaned up the edges with some 220grit sandpaper and they were good to go. As you can see, The speaker now sits flush to the but of the gun where that cap used to be. Time to assemble and test fit Fit is good! nice and snug and once I assemble it after painting, I will put some epoxy on it so it stays in place. Next part I wanted to put on was the front nozzle mod. To do this, I had to cut the current nozzle off of the gun. Since there is a clear plastic piece on each half of the gun, you want to be sure to remove that and cut the nozzle off of those seperately. See below for details. I also wanted to take them out of the gun just to make it easier to cut. The side with the electronics, you have to take off the PCBA prior to removing the clear pieces. to do that is just one screw hiding beneath the wires. See below And to cut away the nozzle: Then just re-assemble. Now for the nozzle of the gun, grabbed the hacksaw again and went to work and again cleaned up the edges with sandpaper when done. You'll see below also that I had to cut the nozzle down just just the front part where it sticks out of the barrel. This allows it to look flush to the gun and give it the look we want. Its a bit short so I am going to change the model and maybe print another so it comes out better. While that is printing, going to track down the bolts I can epoxy in and it should be good to go. Think that is all for now. Going to go in the model and see what I can print next. I think the next mod will be making the T-Tracks correct and drilling the remaining holes in the barrel. Let me know what you think so far
  16. Yeah I'm down man sounds good to me. Until then, I'll keep posting pics and ideas. Thanks for all the input so far!
  17. Yeah the nozzle you showed in your build looks really good! I'm going to look into Shapeways as well so it can provide a quick easy way for people to simply order the whole kit and get to work modding these new blasters. At least that way we would know that the pieces all fit and the print quality would be good. Good tip Allan1313, I think since people are looking to buy kits, this could provide a good way of doing so. Idk if any Admins are watching this thread at all, but please PM me if this would be acceptable once my kit is all made up. Im new to the site I don't want to step on any toes
  18. Yeah definitely! Like I said, once I get the gun completed and see what parts need to be printed I can set it up as a kit and offer them up and post the files so people can have their pick. As of now I only have a few pieces but hoping to complete the printed portion in a few weeks so I can have a better idea of what will be needed. Printer I am using at the moment is an Objet Eden260VS Currently, I have the nozzle being printed (identical to mine) with the other printer so we will see how they compare. Ill post pics of them both but based on the printers I saw on that site, it should be up to par. I'll get those up soon so you know what you can expect in regards to kits
  19. Yeah idk man! That is part of the reason I haven't mentioned that yet. I would love to add in a real counter and just branch off of the current electronics. So here are my thoughts... Since the current counter on the gun is pretty small, I want to see how the real one compares to the overall size. If I can build the real one around it and use the weapon select button still, I may go with that. Here is the model I am working from Once I determine the size of the parts I need, I will proceed with it. I want to add in the light bar effects so I think I might tackle that too. Hate to cover up the one they made it with but lets be honest, its not quite replica-like. So once I get the little details on the barrel done, I may work on the counter. If anyone has any thoughts on how to work this out let me know. Open to suggestions
  20. Yeah, the most I can do at this point is provide files to help others print them out. My brother has a lower level 3D printer and I know the resolution not at this level. You can sand them and paint those though so that could be an option I would be willing to do! Let me see if I can get a sample of a part to compare and see if people would be interested. It'd be a little more elbow grease on the sanding aspect but I think if it was in a kit, people might be interested. Thoughts anyone? If so, I would put kits together and help people out! Let me look into that since I would love to help other people make these mods.
  21. Got a chance to fit the Rear Sight last night. And by fit I mean just simply slide into place since it fit like a glove! Again, not as wide as the real sight but I think it works so I dont have to worry about opening up that hole. Check it out: Pretty happy about that part actually. Cut, print, moving on... The D-ring holder fits nicely into the recess I made for it in the endcap and it hides to speaker holes nicely. Check out the assembly (and btw the new endcap is a better fit). I will cut off the old one, epoxy those folding stock catches and fit it this weekend so ill post those soon Also was able to model the front nose piece based on charlesnarles scale factor (thanks for that). Did an overnight print and got this guy this morning Its a little long but I can just cut off the excess once I fit it to the front of the barrel. Got some work cut out for me this weekend but I should be able to get these parts on this weekend and I will post updates with process and results! stay tuned
  22. Parts are done! Lookin good so far. Cant wait to get home and test the fit of these guys. Below is the new endcap and new rear sight. also comparison of new and old rear sight. Note, the insert to the rear Sight swivel's and was not printed like that...it does come apart. Will put a dowel pin through there to assemble. Whats good about the little wings on the new Rear Sight is I can simply slide that whole assembly right where the old one was. Much better but cant wait to paint it. More later!
  23. There is room for the mounting hole on the opposite side of the view I show above. Once I figure out how I am going to mount the rail and remove the stock Disney one, I will post the walk through. But you are correct to bring that up, I did take that into account
  24. I can release files once the gun is built, for sure! as far as offering printed parts for sale, not sure I would feel too good about doing that only because I am not paying for the printer materials. so in that respect, I think I would rather post the completed files so others may have the same oppurtunity. So lets talk rear sight. The one they provide is close, but not quite the right look as the real E-11. I reverse engineered the site and got a model of it down Here is a comparison to a real E-11 Rear Sight Guard (provided by Ducati) You'll notice the Disney site is skinnier than the real one. I thought about making it fatter to fit the real E-11 profile, however I dont believe in my dremel skills to make a new precise square cut. So, going to make the mods to the Disney sight to make it similar that way I can just slide it right into the current assembly hole, paint it and call it a day. Also going to add the rear sight insert. This is what is currently in the printer, see below: Much better than the one provided by Disney I know I keep showing models but once everything is done today I will post how it looks. Any thoughts on this rear site mod? going to put a dowel pin through that hole so the insert swivels
  25. Thanks! Work in progress obviously but I think we are all learning when it comes to modding this gun. Wanted to add that the trigger and rear sight will be easy to mod. they are just pieces that slide out and can easily be replaced. Im thinking I can use the real E-11 parts, scale them and add features on the inside that allow me to use the current assembly methods. stay tuned
