Welcome Jeremy! As my fellow troopers have pointed out, the 1st step is picking out an armor. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Welcome aboard. These guys are dead on. I have Anovos and it has served me well. There are many good makers out there.

Wow that is some fantastic work. I think the glue on the wire looks real good.

From what I can see, they are getting a little better. But wait times are still pretty bad. If you are looking to get it quick, some of the other vetted vendors will be much quicker.

Welcome and good luck. Take a look at some SDS build threads and centurion applications. From there make your own build thread and ask a lot of questions.

Hi Alex, looks like my buddies have you headed in the right direction. The first thing to do is look at that getting started section and pick out some armor. Ask a ton of questions, we are here to help.

Not to deter you, but it will be a ton of work to create something that would pass 501st approval from scratch. How are you looking to do it? Molds/vacuum forming, foam, etc.?

Welcome to both of you! Good luck with the builds. I have a dew Anovos kits and they should serve you well.

No most do not paint the bucket. They are formed using the same plastic as the rest of the kit so it matches and you don't need to paint it.
Yea I was referring to the bucket. I have painted many in the past and have always hand painted all the details and the actual bucket. I guess the better question should be do most Centurion builds paint the actual helmet? Because then obviously the white of the helmet and bucket will not match exactly which may be a good thing I suppose and I actually enjoy painting the whole thing as you can hide little filling mishaps etc.
During the movie production a different plastic that was tan/khaki was used to make the helmets. So to match they had to paint them white.

The actual helmet does not need to be painted. The frown and vocoder needs to be painted and some of the details like the tears, traps, and tube stripes can be painted or decals. But no, the overall helmet does not need to be painted if that's what you are asking.
Thanks! I do have a question with regards to my Centurion TK build. The AP set I have is obviously all ABS and polishes up quite nicely. However due to the fact that I am making an ANH Stunt and all the stunts had painted buckets (your all familiar with all that :-)) That being said does the bucket need to be painted. I looked around and never found an answer. Thanks!

Welcome! Take a look at some ATA build threads and centurion applications to see what you should be looking like when you are done. Good luck!

ANH canvas belt question, detail or just age?

I guess it depends what you are going for. I like the clean non frayed edges. Looks crisper.
Yes there is just a stick going across the top and bottom.
