  1. Be careful of ordering plastic for cover strips from a random vendor. You may get lucky, but you may also find out there are 421 distinct shades of white. For instance the cover strip material I was supplied with came in two colors of white, one that matched the suit for the outside and one that was more of an off white which was marked for inside cover strips.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure to take a piece of the armor into the store with me and make sure the shade of white matches.

  2. Was the vendor that you got your armor from one of the vetted sellers from here?  If so, they should have included extra ABS, probably in 4x18 (approx.) inch sections.  You will have to cut these down to size as needed for the cover strips.

I did order from a vetted seller from this website. He said that the strips do not come with the suit. They are an additional item you must buy. $50 + shipping for the strips. I have found where I can buy the strips and I think Item code SSS-10824 is the correct sheet.

    Enter catalog code SSS-10824

    Hope this helps future newbies.

  3. I am becoming a little worried that I will not receive the armour I ordered back in December 2014 and January 2015. I will not list the person's name who I ordered from to preserve his current reputation but I'm looking for some advice or calming words.

I order a helmet from someone who was listed in this topic http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/. I ordered the helmet first, as I only had the funds for the helmet, on Dec. 31, 2014. I received an email back from the maker confirming payment was received and that it would take 2 to 3 months. Funds became available to order the rest of the outfit, so I ordered it on Jan 10th, 2015. After sending ordering, I emailed the maker that I would still like to have the helmet before the outfit since I paid 2 shipping fees. He confirmed that he would send it seperate.

I recently sent the maker two emails just trying to get an update on production since the 3 month mark is just about here. I have received no responds. The first email was sent on 3/20/2015 and the second on 3/27/2015.

Has anyone had this type of anxiety before? I did use paypal and it says I have 180 days to dispute. I really want to give this person the benefit of the doubt.

    Thanks.

  4. Are you trying to figure out what you'll need besides the kit, in order to complete your armor?  You're aware of the need for boots, neck seal, undersuit, things like that, right?

Yes I'm trying to figure out what I need to complete the suit and any help locating a website, forum thread is much appriciated. All I have ordered is the basic suit from Tray Nichols (Link in first post). I will still need boots, neck seal, undersuit, and anything else needed for a full suit. I'm not completely sure where I want to go with the suit but I know I would like to join in with everyone marching for DragonCon

  5. Hey everyone,

I've been stocking the threads for a long time and hoping that one day I will be able to afford a set of armor. That day has finally come. I just ordered a full suit from Tray Nichols. Got all his information from this forum. Much appriciated. I've not been able to stock the forum for the GA Garrison but if someone could point me in the right direction that would be appriciated. Also, I would like to know what is next besides getting the armor and assembling it. What else is needed to join the 501st? I know I need to make/buy a blaster. Any suggestions on which thread to check out for building one (E-11 Building). What else do I need to get to complete the build? Again, I got the Tray Nichols T/MC MKII armor kit. http://www.traynichols.com/4sale/tkorder.html

    Thanks in advance
