So if I sit each piece on the seams of my shirt, I have about 4 inches of overlap on the sides of the back and chest pieces. Just leave them like that?

Hello everyone, nearly done with my TK and just have the chest/back pieces to figure out. Does anyone know how I should be fitting it to me? I know the straps stuff, more so worried about the gap on the bottom by the armpit. I tried looking for some info but couldn't really get anywhere. Also tried finding some references from the films themselves but didn't really get anywhere. I figured you folks have the best info. Thanks in advance!
