  1. My Garrison (Golden Gate) recently shared that FISD now has an ongoing detachment merch section, as well as a pit crew shirt run. I can't seem to access them. I was told this could be due to the fact that I have not been recognized as a 501st member on FISD yet.

If anyone has any information on how to fix this issue, please let me know so I can get my hands on some that merch!

    Thanks!

  3. I encountered something a little bothersome after attaching my drop boxes. I know where they should be attached to the belt, and I know where they are supposed to hang. But on larger guys like me, correct placement on the belt means the boxes actually hang more in the front rather than over the empty space between the thigh and butt.

So, what's better? correct placement on the belt, or correct placement on the sides? Or somewhere in between?

  4. I'm starting the torso portion of my build and simply wondering- what are people's preferred method of attaching the straps? snap plates? Directly gluing to the inside of the armor? Do you use nylon strapping or elastic bands? If both, where should each be used?

Last, if I were to glue the straps directly to the armor, what glue should be used? I've used ABS cement for my entire build but I assume something like a two-part epoxy would be better for attaching straps to ABS. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

As always, thanks for any input!

  5. Hey, my apologies if this has been discussed before, I did a search and couldn't find anything. I recently got a replica resin blaster and the all black, pristine finish was boring me. So I decided to add some weathering. when I was satisfied with my work, i put it down to dry. I came back a few hours later to check it out and realized I added A LOT of weathering. More than I had intended. I guess I got carried away :(

That brings me to my point. I like the way it looks, like a REALLY beat up blaster, but will too much weathering be a problem? If so, do you have any recommendations on undoing some of it?

I attached a photo- my apologies for the crappy cell phone picture. it's all i've got

  6. Hey there, the name's Joe! I'm very excited- and terribly nervous- to have finally decided to start what I understand to be a long and arduous journey into the world of trooping.

I'm currently on the list for the next production run of TrooperGear's AM 2.0 armor (I ordered it because from what I understand it's best for larger troopers- please let me know if I'm making the wrong decision!)

I had the pleasure of having a long discussion with Mole of Golden Gate Garrison (TB-9349) and though I already had a basic knowledge of the 501st and their mission, his insight brought me to a whole new level of interest.

Well, thanks for having me- and expect me

To have about a million questions when my armor arrives in October! Take care and long live the emperor!
