Thank you for your consideration and i look forward to any changes that might need to be done.

  2. Hello hello Mike, welcome!

We have a great Garrison here, the Dune Sea Garrison - if you haven't already, head on over to the forums and introduce yourself - we have a lot of builds for new guys ongoing, lots of help and ways to learn!

***edit - sorry, just read the part where you said you already went out to our forums - reading comprehension fail -

  3. Hey John and welcome to the MTK family.  There are a handful of excellent build threads on here using MTK.  Many of the questions you will have are located within those build threads.

Yeah its too bad I couldn't get to this build thread when you started it.  I would have told you about the forearms and to leave a little more on the left.  It is a tight squeeze for sure and I have to put my gloves on after I get the forearms on.

You do not need a return edge at the elbow end of the forearm.  Especially if you are going to follow Mikes videos and use the elastic to hold it to the bicep.  I strongly recommend watching his videos over and over again and use them as a guide.  You may have to make some changes to the way he does things to accomodate your body.

The most important part is to have fun while doing this.  Take it slow and research and then after that do more research.

Like I said, you can find many answers to any questions in Ian's (Sithlord) MTK ANH build thread and Adam's (Toybiz) ESB build thread.  Adam has a great idea on how to tackle the size of the biceps :duim:

    Good Luck

I'm taking alllll this advice to heart - just got my AP kit and even after researching for months I let my excitement get the better of me and dove into trimming - taking a step back to make sure things are done following the years of advice out there!

  4. Hello hello !

My friend and I have finally received our big brown boxes and we're digging in - what a load of stuff to work with!

I've been reading reading reading for the last few months on just about everyone's build on here, and thought "oh this won't be too bad!"  We also have an awesome armor smith local that has a ton of experience -

The obligatory armor inventory shot -

The first thing I wanted to do was something I knew I could do - painting - so taped up and sprayed the inside of the helmet black.  I've seen this and it looks awesome - adds a bit to the final build and I read get it done first -

Currently trying to figure out if I screwed up the ears by getting wayyyyyyyyyyy to excited at learning how to cut this plastic....if I can bring myself to post the pics I will, but for the moment I'm stepping back and doing hour after hour researching ears....

    More to come -

  5. Figured hitting 39 was about the right time to get started on the little boys dream of becoming a Stormtrooper. Looking forward to getting into the effort and working with the local garrison of the 501st if old age doesn't stop me first :)

I see an enormous amount of data out here and a tremendous amount of research to get moving on, looking forward to fulfilling a dream almost as old as I am !
