This exact same thing happened with the. I've used Gorilla Glue 2-part epoxy AND E-6000. For the time being it's holding. I have my mp40 magazine pouch hiding the cracked strap. Ultimately I've contacted AP for replacement straps

Where in OH are you? Make sure to register and join the Ohio Garrison. This is your first step towards acceptance into the 501st Legion. I'm the Events Coordinator for the North region of the Ohio Garrison and could be in your area if you need assistance. I'm 20 minutes East of Cleveland.

I have an AP TK that I've had for less than a year now and been on about 25 or so troops. My left shoulder strap snapped in half and I have applied E-6000 and a 2-part epoxy I have temporarily fixed. I believe it became weakened because of the straps of my HWT Pack were actual pack straps from my combat pack from the Marines, and then being in storage. So I replaced the pack straps with 2' nylon strapping with a buckle that can be placed on my chest. Luckily the MP40 magazine pouch hides the visible crack/fix. Ive sent a PM to Mark at AP but no response yet. Where else can I get replacement shoulder straps for my chest plate?

Well, not this time. I tried using the iComm yesterday for a Buddy Walk. During the time while waiting and mingling, the iComm was fine. After walking for 5 minutes, the static burst became constant every 2 seconds. Turned it off. Today, I armored up for a mini convention today, as soon as I turned it on, same thing! I even turned off my fans in my helmet. The speaker was fully charged. So I don't know what is wrong with it. Can I send it in to have it looked at?

It seems like that did the trick! I put roughly 2 pieces of duct tape on the back side of the microphone. I attended a parade in which was only a mile, but in armor for 2 or 3 hours. And no problem! No more cutting me off or on/off erratically.

😂 LOL! This Marine's been there, done that, got the shirt! HWT brings the heavy and the pain! TD... Y'all are just rent a cops! LOLEveryone wants to wear a pauldron, backpack, and carry a big gun but not deal with any of the dirt. Sandtroopers do it right!

I got quite afew things from Trooperbay and did the same with AP. I ended up getting my gloves and holster from AP; but my white belt came with my kit. I got my O2 canister clips and fans from Evilboy as well. But I HIGHLY recommend that you purchase helmet fan system from Echo. Evilboy's fans are okay, but because of the size of the fans, don't really do the job well. Echo's fans are abit bigger and you definitely feel cooler. For added detail, get the iComm with the Aker Voicebooster speaker. It amplifies your voice and gives it the artificial static burst effect.
And when you get done, you should look into having a second costume, the Heavy Weapons Trooper! We can go either way, TK or HWT! Sandtroopers don't have that privilege! 😉

I'll have to do the same because I was having the same issue. I thought maybe the battery of the Aker voicebooster speaker had something to do with it. I'm just afraid that if I put too much tape around it, that it won't be able to pick up MY voice

To give you an update on this blog, I asked afew of my friends if they had speakers with its own power source. My neighbor loaned me his personal iHome speaker. This works pretty good and the sound quality is decent. I purchased today a speaker that was on sale called the Tech and Play Bluetooth Speaker. Both can be purchased at Walgreen's for roughly $22. The loudness is really good and clear. I was running the Sandtrooper radio chatter from my Samsung Galaxy S5. The odd thing I noticed that the speaker seemed to be picking up an FM/AM station somewhere but was extremely faint. Guess it adds to the 'atmosphere'. So I put my phone and the speaker (hooked up with a audio cable) in the radio box of the HWT Pack. And it sounds great. My thought was to take some of the battery 'pressure' off of the Aker voicebooster that I already use with the iComm. So I recommend to you troopers on trying this out. Now it sounds like radio chatter coming from the radio!

Awesome indeed. Ive got this discussion saved as a favorite and will be keeping in touch with you guys

Very awesome! Thank you for the reply. I will look into the website today and maybe start a payment plan for one. I have a DLT-19 that I built from my Hasbro blaster, but definitely not as detailed as yours! 😆

Would you be able to work on payment plans? And would you be able to hollow out the barrel?

Im already a HWT as of 2 months ago ðŸ˜! I added the mini CB hand speaker to the side of the pack as a detail for the radio on the pack. The radio chatter MP3 tracks are connected to the Aker voicebooster speaker as well as my iComm. This effect sounds great and authentic, at least for 2 hours. The iComm for whatever reason starts acting up and cuts out my speach or cuts in and out. I simply used a door hinge as a bracket to hold the CB handset

For my barrel, I used a vacuum cleaner extension tube with Pvc couplings. The extension tube was a perfect length and girth for the barrel

My understanding that ATA is better equipped to handle guys who are abit bigger than the our build. You and me have about the same dimensions in everything except that I'm 5'5 and 150pds. Im going to be biased with AP because I went with them. They had the option of their pieces trimmed and I wanted the holster/gloves addition. (which oddly enough I no longer use because I transitioned to HWT). As for your nose issue, with whatever who you go with, you should cut out eyelets for your helmet instead of using the whole visor piece. This oddly enough made more room for me; the visor used to sit on my nose or push against it.

Both I think. I'm under the impression that you can have an audio file play from your iPod hooked up with the Voicebooster speaker at the same time with my voice

Not 100% sure where this post would go, so I apologize if this is in the wrong area.
As I was going over my HWT Pack and making some adjustments here and there, I came across a CB Radio in my grandfather's garage. I wanted to see if it would look good with a small CB hand speaker attached to the side while the curly radio wire is hooked up to the 'radio'. So this got me thinking about the radio chatter on police channels. Ive read somewhere there is something like that but Star Wars themed (?). I have the Voicebooster speaker that came with the iComm. So I know it's possible of using my iPod with the speaker at the same time with my microphone. I would assume the troopers at MEPD would have something like that. Can anyone help?

Wow that looks pretty good! I was skeptical about the boxes because of the initial shock of the cost. But looking at the details of the boxes, you can definitely see the quality. Heck, half my boxes came from Dollar Tree and Walmart and maybe spent less than $20. But hell, maybe later I'll look into those boxes!

What part of OHIO? I'm 20 minutes East of Cleveland, the Northwest region Events Coordinator. I'm currently a ANH TK and HWT, which I purchased my kit from Authentic Props. For your frame, you might want to go with ATA. Send me a PM if you need to
