No offical picture of his boots is what's holding it back. Everything I've brought up making a CRL to my GML's they say "can't do it, no boots" I need to get around to just taking the pictures and submitting anyway.

So we're still spinning our wheels because of no "official boots" for Cardinal as far as getting a CRL?

Also friend tweeted these and got the Author's attention. The second image is completely 100% canon because we don't see the boots.

Few pictures of my Cardinal's debut at Dallas Fan Expo. I am currently using regular FOTK boots because I haven't gotten the Phasma armor yet. But got nothing but compliments and lots of people asking if and when it'll be a CRL. Had to explain the boot drama....

Google the cover, uploading photo's is iffy for me here. There is no black trim. But ya boots..... Boots boots boots. If only we had a picture of the boots. For just a cost saving measure I'm not going to worry about the boots for now. When I finally get the Phasma Boot armor and it goes on, you'll hardly see the boots underneath.

So got my armor, few minor adjustments left. Painter put a black brow on the helmet, not a major issue. Still need to finish the cloak and get the boot armor. KB Props is taking forever, ordered it 7 weeks ago and have got nothing yet and I've asked for updates twice now. Is someone currently working on trying to make this a CRL since we do have one completed costume so far? Or are there more then just Hal here that's finished it?

Well here's an update on mine, slowly but surely. Ordered the Phasma boot armor from phprops, so I can go either way with the boots. I'll have the cloak done once the armor is finished.

Man that looks amazing, great job! Now submit it for a CRL! (Still not sure if we can get an official one without an official depiction of the boots, but we can try right?) I'd still say his rifle/pistol would be red trimmed, just looks better. But given it's an optimal accessory I don't think it'd be a big deal either way.

But from what I am reading here (And is here "the" opinion for Cardinal so far?) we are favoring Phasma style armored boots over standard FO TK Boots?

I still think his boots are regular TK boots, not Phasma style. "plastoid" is the entire armor, in theory regular stormtrooper boots are plastoid but for practical purposes they're just leather boots for us "real folk" Cloak trim I could see as a medium grey

ya there's no real depiction of his weapon, but I'm gona do the same. Get a full rifle like Phasma and go red instead of chrome

Just get it done, and if he can't approved just show up to a troop anyway and just say you have no idea why your armor is red. But you're going with a standard Episode 7 FOTK right? That is my plan. Think it might be best if we're all on the same page.

And I did, ordered a set of FO TK Armor. Gona paint that red, and get a Phasma Cloak made with a more maroon trim and see where that goes.

ooooooooooooo MAN! Honestly I'm about 80% sure I am going to pull the trigger and do a Captain Cardinal build. If it can't get 501st approved, I could always just paint it white and go FOTK.

Bah I just posted about this, I am also considering doing Cardinal. Everything points to him being basically just a red stormtrooper with a captain's cloak. And the cloak trim looks a bit more maroon then red. I talked to my GML and he basically said there wasn't enough info. But honestly the only thing you cannot see are his boots. But everything else points to him being a standard FO TK, just red. I am considering getting FO TK armor and just going red, and get the cloak. If it gets approved cool, if not it's still an awesome looking costume. Hopefully there will be a comic or action figure or movie flashback or something more of him. He doesn't die in the book (SPOILERS) so it's possible we'll see more of him.

So looking at Captain Cardinal (From the Phasma Novel) and there is no CRL for him. And looking at the requirements for a new CRL there doesn't seem to be quiet enough. The costume must work within the constraints of human anatomy. Costumes that can only be accurately rendered as puppets (IG-88, Battle Droids) are considered props and as such not allowed. Video game characters must be part of the official storyline of the game, and cannot be player customized. For example, Starkiller's Sith Stalker costume is acceptable, but a player character from Star Wars Galaxies would not be. The character must be represented visually by an officially authorized Star Wars publication. Full body front/back/side reference must be available. Costumes based only on text descriptions cannot be approved. An action figure may be used as supplemental reference, but cannot not be the only reference for the character Only official depictions of him are the Phasma Novel cover and the bonus poster for the Barnes and Noble version of the novel. He's basically just a red FO TK. The novel itself just describes him as a red armored storm trooper with a captain's cloak. The novel cover makes the trim on his cloak look a more maroon then the red of Phasma's. So what else would be needed to try and get him a CRL and is anyone aware of any more official depictions of him other than the two pictures below?
