  1. Forearms. Below are some pics of the forearms the are wide enough to get mine big hands through. They need to be cleaned up. Question - do the wrist edge need to be straight cut all the around? Feedback?
  2. I maybe able to fix both of the shins after all, that is reconstructing the front with shims. A little nervous so I will be going slowly.
  3. Thighs are cut and taped. Seems I have a small gap on the bottom of each. top of thighs
  4. For thighs, does it matter if you use the trimmed parts from the thigh for the front shim which are thinner and the thicker shims cut from ABS rectangles? It seems they are one hue off but I really nervous at this point about any unnecessary deviations. thanks in advance.
  5. Basic for now, but I will need to order another set from TrooperGear unless I can get them a part without too much damage to go higher. Laying over a strip may cause it to look like two layers on the one side. So restarting maybe the better option. "Are you thinking of going for EIB or Centurion, if so you may have to add a cover strip same as on the rear. If you are happy with basic approval then you should be fine."
  6. Shins in the front are overlapped and the back uses the butted method wtih velcro to secure for now. the front of one is CA'd by mistake and the other is E6000 so that is why they are overlapped in the front. Need to add TK sniper knee plate once I think these are ready. Any feedback? pic one - front view Rear view
  7. Abs button plates measured, cut, sanded, painted and glued.
  8. After I read your post, I thought should slow down and just get the basics right. Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 4
  9. I really have troopergear not Armor Master

  10. With the objective of attaining a tk number anything that would prevent that including "cutting the cod", I would certainly avoid; however there are threads that do discuss the benefits of cutting the cod making trooping easier and do not remember reading hiding the cut line was a significant issue for them. So those were the reasons for the question. If keep it uncut keeps me on the track with the objective, then it will remain uncut.
  11. Thank you very help. Had not come across it yet.
  12. What's the guidance on cutting the cod piece? Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 4
  13. Would you please provide some detail on how you built your helmet? Painted, stencils, etc? Looks great.
  14. Will do. AM responded and I have purchased a new set from him. Others responded as well which is a great indicator of support! Thanks again for all the responses.
  15. It would be possible to cut them but it my fear is taking the time and then ending up wasting my time. But I am still considering it as an option but want to move onto other parts. I sent a note to ATA and some other armorers and ATA responded that he could accommodate me. I would however like to save these and your suggestion on the glue remover are definitely worth a try onthe seams even with some atrophy of the ABS which can be supported. I appreciate you response.
  16. CA glued the same sides together.
  17. Thanks, any armor at this point would be fine.
  18. I messed up badly and need a new set of thigh armor (all four pieces) quick. I sent a note to the AM but no response yet. Assuming he/she cannot let me buy another set, any other ideas on getting another set? Any help in procuring a new set of thighs would be greatly appreciated. Best,
  19. need new thighs from AM!

  20. New thighs are in so I can start a second set. by the way not sure this is AM armor either, totally confused now but moving on. Questions for the group on the ab plate. - Need to "cut the cod", I put some masking tape where I intend to cut (top of the blue tape) see the pic 1. is this a good place to cut? - second question, there are two separate pieces that need to be painted and then glued to the ab plate however they do need to be trimmed. How much trimming? do the need to be flat or can they stayed raised (minimal trimming) before they are glued on? See pic 2. thanks in advance. pic 1 - ab / cod pic 2- abs buttons to be painted
  21. Thanks, and I realized this should be renamed a Stunt build. Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 4
  22. What are these? They came with the kit. http://s1130.photobucket.com/user/Troopergear/media/New%20High%20Gloss%20White%20ABS%20Armor/022_zpsac4657f6.jpg.html?sort=6&o=117
  23. Those are nice and much appreciated. Wonky is right, every category an adventure, especially that helmet. I quickly attempted to tape up the helmet and then got to the ear pieces and thought wow, these need some serious surgery. BTW, may I ask with what tool are you cutting parts?
  24. I had some family issues that kept me from this project so I am back at it. here is a link to the biceps and forearms that I taped together. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b613/evoxpilot7/IMAG0232_zpsd7d51624.jpg I need a rivet gun and some snap tools but for now just trying to understand the fitments of these parts so I can start some hard assembly.
  25. Where did you get the cover strips for the forearms and biceps? I need some. Thanks in advance for your help. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
