This may be a silly question, but here it goes. Has anyone one ever fakied the wire bracket to make the exterior of the armor appear screen accurate, but used the snap system on the inside of the armor?.... Basically just drill holes and install tiny screws where the brackets would be?

So the curved shims are installed and I shapes the ends of the kidney plate on both sides as suggested by Scott. So glad I did. The curve is perfectly lined up to the ab plate now (this is a picture in the mirror. Lol the holster is on the correct side)
Before I start making the abs paste I cut the kidney notches and sanded down the hard edge of the kidney shim so it it hopefully make the sanding of the paste much more seamless.

We get ultrasonic plastic welders in here at work occasionally for repair. I wish we had one all the time. It would be perfect for armor!

that would be sweet!

UGH.. thanks for the heads up!

I didn't even think of that, good point! That will cut down on the flare out of the kidney plate wouldn't it?

Just curious if there is another glue besides zap-a-gap CA glue that will work with latex hand guards well?

I'll check it out I haven't seen that thread!
Thanks!

I was of the impression that there isn't supposed to be a gap between the kidney and the butt piece, but I see what you are saying... keeps the gap a little more hidden. I have to do something because there's going to be some heavy chaffing going on if I don't do something LOL
btw I am going to be following your Shim thread for my shim job I am starting today, Scott. Excellent work!!!!

I agree! They are hanging pretty far. I think I have to extended the shoulder bell to bicep strap and then shorten the shoulder bell strap
In the picture below, can I open up the gap between the back and kidney? I have a long torso and it would make it a lot more comfortable...... In the crotchal region lol

I like how the end of the frown is slightly turned upward.. its subtle but makes a huge difference in the look of the frown
