  1. Any updates as to this fans performance etc?

    Hey Panda,

I've received alot of positive feedback about the units.

Since it elevates the fan, you get more airflow, and it softens the vibrations and noise.

I have some photos of the unit at work in a customer lid....I'll find them and post so

you can see where he's using (3) Tk-Coolers in one helmet!

Well, around a month ago I got one of these MR-CE's and got right to work on it. It's finally done and I'm pleased with the results. It was a full top to bottom re-paint. The frown seam was filled with plastic welder and sanded level. The whole front faceplate is basically one piece of plastic now. The mold lines were all sanded off. Teeth were enlarged greatly over stock. Ears were chopped to make them closer to the helmet. New brow and neck trim. New dark green lenses. And I can't leave out the great decals from Mark, they really set off the whole deal.

Thanks go out to everyone that posted the great build up pictures and howto's on here :salute:

    Thanks Mobus!

    Looks great.

Thanks for the complement!....Now I can't wait to finish mine!

When I finish my mod, I'll post photos...I'm not thinning the ears, nor am

I taking the lid apart) I'm just doing doing the basics.

  3. MMD putty, by the look of it is also known as Milliput. You can get it in two colurs - basic green/gray, and fine white. It's all purpose brilliant stuff. more expensive than bondo (or P40 inthe UK) but useful for all kinds of things.

Things not to use MMD Putty for:

    -toothpaste

    -hand cream/lotion

    -hair gel

    -shampoo

    -sandwich spread

    -silver polish

Sorry, had to do it.

  4. Yah, got mine there as well, but it was double boxed. The original MR display box and a nice shipping box. Might have been messed up in delivery and they (USPS) didn't rebox it. Mine came over the border and it was in great condition.

    DD

Mine was shipped USPS, not UPS, and it only took a couple days.

It might have been beat up before they shipped it to me....? Who knows, but

the first CE Stunt I bought (from somebody else) showed up double-boxed.

The brown box and package box were put in a larger carton, with packing

peanuts, so it was perfect when it arrived.

It might have been just my post office, they are pretty wierd over there! LOL!

  5. Ordered mine from there too. Should be here in about 2 days.

I ordered my second CE Stunt from Redford Films, and it showed up all beat to hell!

He doesn't double-box it, so good luck...

Mine had severe rub marks on the dome from the package being tossed,

and the actual packaging was nearly destroyed.

(and I'm in California, just miles from the shipper!)

    Good luck...

  6. Nice kit! Everything looks great...except, you'll need to order some new

tube stripes for your CE Stunt bucket. (Ebay)

Also, you've got some other work to do on it as well, like filling the

seam with DAP White Seam Filler, and also changing the screen

behind the mouth. The lenses need to be swapped out for darker

    green lenses too.

Nice stuff by the way...I look forward to seeing it all put together!

Did your kit come with the FX lid?...

  7. nice work Mike!!! I'm interested to see the bondo area progress. That's not an easy fix, as I've made more work for myself many, many, many times that way. Nice work man.

Excellent work Mike, can't wait to see it progress even further.

I'm anxious to see what you do to the interior of the helmet as well...

  8. Man, that is looking GOOD man!

I can not wait to get mine and mod it!

Did you seal the sides of yours like Luis did his?

It looks like you did... but you didn't have pics of it in process so I thought I'd ask.

Also, any tips on taking the helmet apart completely?

I will really try and look at it to see if I can find out the best way when I'm doing mine.

    Again, great job!!!

    Excellent work!

    What paint did you use?

Did you save your brow trim?...or getting new? (and where to get the new)

    Ears?

  9. Hey up chaps!

Is there anybody here who's had to thicken up a thin lid from the inside? I have a quite a nice new lid but it's very thin in places, ie the under cut and areator areas.

Is there any product out there that I could sprayin or apply and let it set hard to make this a bit stonger?

    Thanks in advance!

I've heard of people layering fiberglass on the inside of the helmets....

  10. Nope, all in good condition.

Excellent...let me know how it works for you...what kind of bucket are you using?

On a MRCE Stunt, it fits the best between the aerators, just under the frown.

On a FX, it fits anywhere...lol. Share some photos if you get a chance!

I'm surprised it showed up so fast! Glad it arrived safely.

I just stumbled across these while looking for some other electronics.....

Originally intended for 12Vdc use in picnic and automotive coolers/heaters, I thought they might be an ideal way to cool helmets.

I don't really know all that much about them, but if I can figure out how to cool the hot side, I might try to mount one in my TK bucket as a mini air conditioner.

    Off to do more research.

I've thought about Peltier's and TEC units, but I'm unsure of the voltage and amps that would be required to maintain

the steady performance. A single 9v battery may not be enough.

If you do try this, please share your results!

    Good luck!

  12. well, got off work early so I decided to work on the bucket.

    I sanded the cap/dome.

    I sanded the back section.

I attached the back and front, glued them together so far. still need to find screws and a drill to make the sides sit flush.

I am letting the glue sit for a while and ill look for a drill and screws for the sides. Once i have those i will continue on as planned.

Glue cap/dome on to the rest of the helmet.

fill in the seam where the back and cap/dome meet.

    sand some more.

    then prime it all again

    let dry overnight

    then wet sand.

From there I will look it over, fill if needed.

    Looking excellent!

What is everyone doing about the screws?

Can somebody give me an idea on how to "fake" the screws on the ear pieces?

  13. Thanks everyone. My brow trim didn't come off without a little damage either. Waiting on replacement ears, have other lenses, and I plan on ordering new brow and neck trim soon. If tomorrows weather is good I'll paint it. Let it sit for a week, then start all the hand painting.

Has anyone tried just applying some window tint to the inside of the stock lenses?

  14. Great pics and what a great overhaul, i cant wait to see it completed B)

Hey everyone...I know many of you have ordered my tube stripes for the CE...

Many have asked if I was going to have the decals for the rest of the bucket, and

I am close to getting them on ebay.

I had to trace each decal, scan, digitize, clean, etc. I should have the decals ready

by next week, however, these will be somewhat expensive because I have to

    outsource them to another shop.

I will keep everyone updated too.

By the way, excellent paint job! It look fantastic. My apologies for trying to

    hijack this thread!
