  1. Hi mate, yeah sorry there is 3 on either side and one on the crouch plate. I thought I got a picture if it but I didn't.
  2. The sniper plate only fitted crooked when fit right. I thought that was how it was meant to be as researched in other threads? I can add another snap to the shoulder strap and see how that fits. Just waiting on some more to arrive any day now. Plus thanks for your feed back guys. Any more?
  3. Yeah I think I do need a tighter under suit. It drags when I put on my arm armour. The forearms usually sit higher but I hadn't connected the elastic strap and I didn't realise they had fallen down. As for the gap I didn't think it would look that bad but if it does I can fill behind with spare abs and apply some white gumption. I also think I seen some reference pics with people with gaps there too. But as rightly pointed out the adjustment was a minor detail I guess.
  4. I used a clear liquid called mek. I got it with the kit to clean up any excess glue, it worked a treat so I thought I'd give it a go on the thighs too. I had seen references myself about the strip stopping early so I squirted the mek onto the glue at the side and it softened it enough to get a sharp knife underneath. I had to keep re applying the mek the further I got down as it was really well glued. Where I wanted to stop I cut a split in the top of the cover strip and stuck a blunt screw driver in and forced it to snap off. Mek is a sort of asitone like what ladies use to take off there uv gel nails. It also softened the plastic so I had to be carefull not to damage it.
  5. Okay, ref the thighs, I attacked it with mek and a knife and I now have this and a cut finger The corrosion is due to the abs glue melting into the plastic when I attached them weeks ago. Better?
  6. Hi guys, I've put this up in the uk garrison with no replies. So hopefully you guys can help. Just looking for any pointers that need changing before I send it in for certification Thanks as always The ears have tape because I still need to paint a black surround and I've masked the area off.
  7. Thanks for the reply, I found the thread you mentioned and I came up with this
  8. Here are a few pictures of the top half of my armour. Anyone see any problems?
  9. Hi, all I'm getting round to attaching my sniper knee properly. I've marked in pen what I think needs cutting,is this right? I know the holes are wrong too and it needs raising but do I also need to trim some more off either end edge? Thanks as always
  10. Also is this the correct place for the belt?
  11. Just a quick question about which side wraps over which on the back. I see it that the left part goes under the right side.
  12. Hi, can you paint the rivet and snaps white? And still make centurion on a tk? If not the snaps can you paint the rivet? Also can you paint the snap on the right hand top of the abb plate? Cheers
  13. Okay, the dylon has arrived. All I needed extra was a small paint brush. That's the first coat complete. To hurry the process up I quick dried it using a hair dryer. That's coat number 2 on and now for the final coat. Finally to cure the dye in place you had iron it through. Instead I stole my wife's straightening iron for her hair and used that instead. The finished article is after 20 runs up and down the hallway. What do you think? Authentic enough? Thanks for reading.
  14. Okay and back too it. The next section has taken me a whole day due to applying Coates. First I needed to mask up the areas of the boots that I didn't need to spray. Next I laid out newspaper on the table and cut up my shoe box to create a back spray wall. I then applied Coates of the spray dye every 2 hours. 5 in total, spraying from about 8 inches. ( the card board in front of the boot on the first picture is about right. And to the finished sprayed article. Hopefully my dylon will arrive tomorrow.
  15. This is my current stash of supplies 1. Black Chelsea boots from Clifford James £19.99 2. Can of Brillo leather spray dye 3. Bottle of white spirits 4. Green Brillo pad 5. Rags I'm still waiting on my fabric dylon dye for the elastic part of the boot. Okay first part to rub the boot down with a cloth soaked in white spirits Wow that's a lot of junk off a new boot!. Make sure you clean everywhere. The preparation is more important than the spraying Now it's time for the green pad with the white spirits to take the shine off and create a better adhesive for the spray dye. One boot done. You can clearly see the shine on the boot on the left and the newly prepared boot on the right. Well I did the same to the other boot. Rinsed them down with water and I'm giving them 24 hours to dry. Tomorrow I shall be applying the first coat of the Brillo spray dye. Stay tuned.
