Awesome progress Sean! Looks like you'll be ready to apply and get your TK# real soon. Oh, and is that a DLT-19 I saw in those pics? If so, sweet. A hyperfirm version of that one is on my wishlist.

I'm planning my first troop for 10/5 so I decided that today would be a good day to install the electronics and make sure everything works. I also got permission where I teach to wear my costume for Halloween, I cannot wait to see my students' faces when they show up to class
Had to show off my first patch "Fire Team Liberty" - I am a member too
Bucket setup...

another vote for eastbay! Best advice I got here

Looks fantastic! Nice work!

I've only seen and used clear myself. It can have other uses besides your armor, and you may not want it to be visible in certain areas. Why not try both.

Couldn't resist getting these framed...worth it for the reaction I got from my wife Now to hang them in the man cave.
And if someone knows how to get the following into my signature, that would be awesome, it is something I haven't really tried or know how to develop, but I thought it was cool when I saw it.

I avoided velcro at all costs. Only place you'll find it on my armor is the electronics (fans, amp, icomm).
15mm on the arms is recommended for screen accuracy.
I put my rubber gloves with handguards on after my forearms are on.
CRL for Centurion does not list a specific size for coverstrips. Remeber you have to fit the armor to your body type. I am really tall compared to the original troopers and I was able to create a Centurion level armor out of RT-MOD. I may have a few things I want to change if I can to make it even more accurate, but that is a project for another day. I want to get trooping!

Keep it going man! Glad you got around to finding the time. Once I got started I couldn't stop
I had a similar problem with losing skin, as well as many others. Once I got mine fitted and glued, I boiled some water and made them a bit more oval than perfectly round. Did wonders to get the hands in and out without losing a lot of skin.
I would test fit with 20mm first, check your comfort level, maybe go 15mm in front, 20mm in back. You have some options and can still go for centurion. Just try to be consistent and have the armor fit your body. Also bear in mind that if you use E6000 you can still carefully remove an inner shim or cover strip if you have to and it will be alright.

TK 81720 reporting in. *static* Centurion status awarded. *static*
In my head it sounds so cool, so I had to run around my house with my icomm and say it over and over again until my wife and kids made me stop. I don't think I've smiled so much for so long in a while.
Thank you all who have followed my build and given me support along the way. I could not have achieved any of this without your help. I'm definitely going to be focusing on trooping more now that I've reached the goal I set for myself.
I by no means consider myself to be an expert. If you've read through my build I've made some mistakes along the way, but please don't hesitate to contact me with questions at any point in time. I will do my best to help you as others here have helped me

Lee Mattes 81720 Centurion Letter

I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone (I would hate to list names and forget anyone) for their support, guidance and help through the process of my first build. Without FISD and the resources posted here, I don't think I would have had the confidence to take on what seemed like a monumental task. I have had a blast posting my progress for my build, and I look forward to giving back as much as I can trooping and here on the forums. "Troopers helping troopers" I couldn't have done it without all of your help. Thank you!

Thanks for all the compliments so far! Waiting is the toughest part

Thanks Craig. I do appreciate the input, especially since I plan on placing my electronics in the chest plate. This I'm sure will add some weight and stress to the shoulder straps. I've already learned my lesson and cannot carry the entire armor by the torso. I feel like the joint between the straps and chest are solid now (I used what I felt was an excessive amount of E6000) but time will tell, and I'm sure I'll learn a lot more once I get trooping.

Good news came today I am now EIB, next step Centurion...

Thank you all I appreciate the support greatly, and look forward to trooping soon.

Welcome Tom! I loved building my RT-MOD kit and Sean is absolutely correct about how backed up Rob can get. I think your best chance of obtaining this kit quickly and perhaps a golden opportunity would be here...
