  1. OK fellows - really appreciate feedback on the armour to date. Almost ready to submit for clearance I think but before I kit up for the photo shoot I'd welcome any constructive comments on how to improve the build before submitting for clearance
  2. Thigh armour once resized and re shaped. Snap at front connect webbing suspenders to waistband - holds the thighs up and straight
  3. Leather holster attached to belt using 2 (not 4!) rivets - true 'Stunt' style. Measurements are spot on too.
  4. Drop boxes attached to the armour belt which in turn is attached to a white canvass belt (courtesy of Trooperbay)
  5. The white dye is beginning to whiten up the boots nicely. Soles still masked and polish yet to be applied but not looking too bad I don't think
  6. I used snaps and webbing to join the shoulder bell to the bicep armour (and included a bicep strap to hold it straight) - then webbing to link the bicep to the forearm
  7. Joined butt and cod piece from underneath showing correct rivet placements
  8. Cod piece connected to butt and showing snap connectors to link to mid section
  9. Butt piece showing snap connectors for joining to cod piece and mid section
  10. Inside view of the mid section clam shell showing shims, snap connectors with and without straps for linking mid section to chest and butt but and cod piece.
  11. The front mid section sat upright and joined to the rear section with 2 shims that allow flexibility for expanding and contracting waistline. Buttons are coloured according to spec.
  12. This is the rear view (inside) of the chest armour. Note the shoulder straps are fixed but 'float' above the back section. Snap buttons are for two straps that connect the chest piece to the mid section:
  13. Problem solved! Pictures taken with my digital SLR camera were either too large or incompatible format. Reverted to taking pics with my IPad and voila! Picking up the story.....the young(ish) apprentice made connectors to hold the armour together and in place using elastic webbing and heavy duty camping snaps. This is back piece of the armour showing the connectors:
  14. Am even more stumped!! Created a brand new Flickr account and uploaded a photo. Grabbed the link to it (url) and copied this into the url boc that appears here when I click on the 'image' button in the toolbar. Select OK but nothing happens and the dialogue box hangs and cant be closed. Need to right mouse click and select refresh to lose it. Is there a problem with the image link dialogue on the FISD site?
  15. I'm stumped! Have photos uploaded into Photobucket but can't get them to appear here using the image button in the toolbar (picture of a tree in a square frame). It displays a dialogue box asking for a URL - but when I cut n' paste available links from photo in photobucket (using links for 'direct', 'HTML' or 'IMG' it just hangs. Am I missing something obvious?
  16. I seem to have lost the ability to link any more photos from Photobucket. Have I reached the limit for this thread?
  17. He glued together the bicep pieces - and made some snazzy looking 'snaps' using heavy-duty camping snaps
  18. Armed to the teeth with his magnets and E600 he set about the job in hand....starting with the leg armour
