My thigh backs a very similar to your originals. This will be very helpful!! Any issues getting basic approval with larger back cover strips?

I experimented on some scrap ABS w/ a heat gun on "Low"...

Then worked on the inside of one bicep... I was able to open the tapered end for a better fit.

I used extreme caution! White knuckled...

I am happy with the result.

My biceps are completed, however, they have a very irregular shape. What should be a "pipe" / circular opening, is more triangular with a half circle. Extra shimming wouldn't necessarily fix the shape...
Has anyone used a heat gun to shape biceps??

Well I have finished my helmet...
The ears definitely tried my patience but I think it looks good. Thanks to everyone who has ever created a thread for an ATA build, it saved me many "Whoops" moments!! I took several pics along the way and will stick them into a build thread as soon as I get some time. Thanks!

Hello folks,
I am new to the site, but not new to the inevitable flirtation with gearing up! I live and work in OKC, OK. And am praying for a Thunder victory tonight!! I am very stoked to find this site and I can already tell it will eat up whatever free time I have by simply browsing through threads. I for one never believed armor could be so complex and yet so wonderful and the same time. I am currently familiarizing myself with all of the different styles and kits available...the beautiful thing about it are the vision of the trooper inside me is absolutely attainable and I can customize to the pickiest detail imaginable! I joined the site b/c I know I will need assistance along the way and everyone thus far seems to be one for the cause, and I applaud that! I look forward to meeting some of you as I delve into the beginning of a fascination that began long ago but just recently became an obsession all over again. From what I know (which is not much) I love the ANH Stunt derived kits; I would like to think I am savvy enough to construct my own (with help of course!) I have kids so durability is definitely an issue if one of my girls ever got ahold of it, and finally expense. I have been through the rigmarole of eBay and spit out the other end by purchasing a crappy helmet...but I did several "practice" mods to it and it made a good present for my nephew! If anyone has any suggestions on where I should start I would love to hear from you. I will be starting; as most do with the lid and finding a helmet kit that will suit my needs best, and then will build my way up from there...Thanks!!
