Yes i was talking to him on a recent troop and it's his own sculpt which he is constantly refining.

Looks Like a AP kit with ATA bits. Probably not his own sculpt but maybe given permission to use the sculpts since he's UK

You live in the UK, so instead of US based armors I suggest RS propmasters or Troopermaster. RSpropmasters.com and trooper master is a member that can be contacted here on this site. They are the best armors available too!

Did no one notice the rivets installed wrong for the holster? or do rivets placement for holster not apply to EIB? Anyways, the rivets or chicago screws should be near the bottom rather than towards the top.

You should be wearing a balaclava anyway , isn't it part of your garrisons rules ?

I don't know of any garrisons with that rule. Does UK do that? Too hot for one.

I personally would troop unannounced all the time. At places like walmart, best buy, hastings. Of course with a fellow friend/trooper. Never alone. If you do decide to do this never, ever bring the blaster with you. Leave it at home. I would always get happy responses from the public and people would love taking pictures. It just really depends where you live and where you wanna troop at.

You guys keep posting pics of the outside of the armor. I can only tell when looking at the inside, where it might have originated from.

 

From what I heard from the panel at Anaheim, they had been working from several sources to get their molds. They told me that they were using the best parts from the existing kits, which I believe they have. They just have not been forthcoming as to the where or who they got them from. I hate to say it, but that is their prerogative.

 

What it comes down to is "do you like the armor and what they have done to it"? I've been trooping in mismatched armor ever since I started. Even with my ATA, there are some parts that wore out and I had to cast myself, like the belt and butt plate.

 

Vern, I can make neither heads nor tails from your "side by side comparison". I realize that you were in a hurry and just snapped some shots, but the title of your thread is very misleading. In your own admission you said that you knew that this thread was going to go this way. I was hoping for something more definitive and not just another argument based largely on opinion and little on fact.

Well they sure as hell didn't pick out the best shins. The thing that makes me think ANOVOS came from RS is the shins. Anovos has 4 outer shins like RS does. And they suck to wear cause they just don't go together I had to replace mine.

Good effort but the naysayers will argue they can from any source. The things we need to compare are the parts I donated and the parts Rob sculpted:

 

-Left forearm

-Left bicep

-Shoulder straps

-Knee plate

-Hand plates

-Ab buttons

I can take pics of the shoulder straps, but those are the only RS parts I own.

The belt would hold everything together correctly, also shorten the shoulder strap to fit your back better.

Back of the shin coverstrips are supposed to  be on the outisde of the shin.

This lid has many faults yes but the general consensus is that Ainsworth did made the originals.

The ones he makes now bear little resemblance unfortunately and are definitely not from the original molds 

He only vacuum formed the lids, Brian muir and Liz Moore sculpted the armor and helmet.

This needs a timely bump to remind us all what an outstanding job R2Dan did, and show just how poor the Anovos helmet is for those out there who like the authentic look.

Just enjoy this thing of beauty!

Besides not having the bumpy surface the anovos is really close in comparison to an RS helmet more close than any other helmet from say ATA MTK or AP.

I helped my friend and garrison mate finish his armor last week. He is on the left and his thigh armor wasn't strapped to the belt securely yet. so his thighs are just sitting. His belt is also not mounted yet at all.

So we jumped on the Anovos Trooper wagon We have bought 2 kits and hopefully will have them in hand By Wednesday. I will be building both kits for basic approval One for me and one for my Significant other so any tips and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Before I start I will be reading WIP’s till my brain in numb and then ask a few questions before I fire up the trimmers.

 

Here is where I am currently at, I am sure I will add more and update my list periodically. Please comment on anything you know I may need to replace on the Anovos kits and or on the vendors I am thinking about using.

The lens that come with the anovos is fine to use, you just need to mount them more securely. The accurate are green but to save money just use the anovos.
