  1. Wow, very generous. I contacted the seller and he just forgot to put it in the box and will ship it to me tomorrow. If it fails to arrive or is damaged, I will let you know. If the thermal det. is in good shape, I will leave your offer to someone who might need it more. I have been snooping around here for several weeks and posted several questions and can't get over how helpful the community is. This place rocks!!!
  2. Hi all, I recently purchased a TE2 kit on this forum, but the guy did not include a thermal detonator. I blew all of my budget on the kit but still need the canister for admission into the local garrison. Does anybody have experience with this seller: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-STORMTROOPER-THERMAL-DETONATOR-PROP-1-1-LIFE-SIZE-/251022223749?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a72172985#ht_1617wt_741 Thanks for the help! Chris
  3. Is it possible to mix ABS and HIPS at all if/when one part cracks?
  4. Yeah, I am 36 with a wife and two kids. Believe me, the time factor is a big one. Thanks for the reassurance,
  5. Would you consider it a bad investment to purchase a completed set of TE2 from someone with my exact measurements when I could get an ABS kit and complete it with local Garrison help for about $200 more? I am currently a pending member looking for my first set of armor.
  6. Is his TE2? And if so, how old was the armor and how active was he in it?
  7. Hi all, I may have a good deal lined up for a used TE2 kit and wanted some more input on durability, upkeep, and replacement. I know from research here that ABS is more durable, but assuming I go TE2: 1. What can I do/not do in the armor such as sitting, flying commercial, displaying in lit basement, brisk jog in case I need to catch up with others, etc.? 2. If it cracks, what are cost-effective ways for repair? 3. Would ATA HIPS or even ATA ABS serve as viable replacement for individual parts? Thanks for all of the help on this and the other questions I have asked so far! Chris
  8. So ATA will have a little more detail and T/MC is a little less likely to crack because of the thickness of the plastic, but neither is a major trump over the other? From the few samples of finished T/MC armor, it seems to be "shorter" and "wider". Maybe that is what you meant by angular. Is this my imagination, is it just a coincidence that the wearers were built that way, or is there something to it? I am leaning toward T/MC because my local Garrison is doing an armor party on the 25th and because I have 9 days off for Spring Break one week later. I would like to be finished by mid June if possible. I will keep up the research and make a decision by the end of the weekend. Thanks for the input.
  9. Hi all, I am currently looking at these two kits and wanted to ask which one is the most accurate and by how much. ATA is $150 cheaper but the wait list is 9 weeks longer. I have heard nothing but good things about the two, but would love some insight from the forum to help make a decision. I am 5'11, 160 lbs. Thanks! Chris
  10. Die ist mir zu gross. Vor allem der Helm. Das sagt sogar der Hersteller.
  11. Naja, ich bin schon auf der ATA Warteliste. Die kostet $525 inklusiv Versand. Viel mehr gebe ich nicht aus. Das Warten ist halt bei mir das Problem. Ich wäre gern auf C6 ausgerüstet.
  12. I wish I had jumped on it while I had the chance. It was buy now for $400 but I am too much of a noob to pull the trigger on it without feedback. By the time I got it, the armor had bids. I am sure it will go over $400 now... oh, well. Thanks for the input and I will let you know if I get it
  13. Hi guys, Can you guys tell me what you think of this deal? http://www.ebay.com/...1#ht_500wt_1287 I am a prospective member of Garrison Tyranus and I just forwarded the link to our armor master. He said he thought it looked like T/MC but said I should come here for consensus. I would normally just wait and go the traditional rout of going with one of the usual makers directly, but the wait is killing me. I am a high school German teacher looking for a TK on a budget and the wait on ATA is 11 weeks for me. Any help is much appreciated. Chris
