  1. There's no hero armour, only hero helmets. And yes you can remove some of the back legs to ease walking. Also, no, there is no minimum return edge you must keep around the legs either.

Thank you!  The CRL pictures were the reason I asked, the Hero does not have the legs cut out, but the Stunt does.

  2. I have done some searching on the forumn, but still want to double check with you guys on a couple of questions.

Is it okay for a ANH Hero to cut out the bottom of the thighs and the tops of the greaves, in the back, to make walking easier?  (Like this \____/ for the geaves and turn that over for the thighs.) I feel like I am waddling everywhere. :P  Basically my calf is hitting the bottom of my thigh piece when I bend my knee.  Should I shorten my thighs?

I was also trying to find a solid answer on return edges for the thighs and greaves.  Can they be taken off completely or is it required to have them?  Of course I removed them completely from the bottom of the greaves, but is there a minimum amount that should be on the top.  I also have removed some from the tops of the thighs and none from the bottom.

I do not want take plastic off if I should not, it is not very easy to get it back on. :smiley-sw013:

  3. Welcome to the FISD! Check out the "Getting Started" area and sign up on your local garrison's forum.

Do not worry about building your armor, I did not think I had the skills to get it done but it was a great experience. There are plenty of troopers that are willing to help. Good luck!

  4. I made snap plates using plastic, glued them on with E6000, and did not experience any warping. But, I do like the idea of using webbing to conform to the shape of the ABS.

As for getting the snaps flat, I also ditched the circular pounding thing and used a flat piece of thick metal to pound on to get the back flat.

Brian has a thread somewhere that has a lot of helpful pictures. :smiley-sw013:

  5. Hi Jordan! The best thing you can do is take your time and do a lot of taping, fitting, taking tape off, taping again, fitting, etc. I worked on my AM kit in my spare time and it took me 8 months.

I also have the problem of my helmet sitting on my chest, even after I removed alot of the tabs on my shoulders. But, it is an AM helmet and I plan to upgrade soon.

Good luck with your build! :smiley-sw013:

  6. I have begun to make modifications to my armor for EIB status. I know the belt corners need to be cut at a 45 degree angle, but is there an exact measurement from the corner where I need to make the cut?

I have searched the forumn, but have not been able to find a number.

    Thanks! :tkrotj:

  7. Looks like a great start! I also have AM armor and it is a great set.

Your kidney plate might be upside down based on the photo, I turned mine over and over about 20 times before I figured it out. Trimmig some of the return edge off the top of the thighs will help pull them up more, I ended up taking about half or more.

Take your time and it will turn out great. :smiley-sw013:

  8. I ordered the Hasbro mod kit on May 4th or 5th from the website with PayPal. Got notification a couple days later saying they were processing and then a couple days ago saying it was dispatched

So things seem to be working for my order.

It was the same experience for me. The order was processed and dispatched in 2 or 3 days. It seemed like it took less than 2 weeks for my kit E-11 mod kit arrived.

  9. Make sure the belt is in the right location height-wise and properly centered on the ab plate before putting any holes in it.

Thanks for the photos and tips guys. The above quote reminds me of another thing i have been wondering about. Does it matter if the belt sits just under the ab button plate or does it need to be slightly higher to cover a small portion of button plate?

  10. I am in the last stages of my build and I need advice regarding the belt. I know it must be attached to the ab plate and I plan on using snaps. My plan is to make the holes in the belt, mark the ab plate where the holes lay, drill the holes and attach he snaps.

I searched the forums, but had a hard time finding a post showing someone attaching the belt. Any advice, warnings, or alternate methods would be very appreciated. :smiley-sw013:

    Thank you.
